I went to the Grill House for my going away party and it was much better than the reviews. I ordered the Warm Artichoke & Spinach Dip and the Bar Cheese for the appetizers and they were both delicious. I brought the leftovers to my and although usually a picky eater, she loved these. The Hubbard House Cheese Soup lived up to its' hype - just wish I could have also tried the other soups. The Taco Salad was huge and also delicious. I asked the waitress to remove the olives and to add in extra sour cream and she did this. The Oberon's were nice and cold. Service was great! I will be back.

Excellent coffee shop with full-featured coffee and espresso bar, baked goods, and sandwiches.
I love Mug Shots for a few reasons, but mainly that they have amazing salads, gluten free bread for when I want a sandwich (that actually tastes like bread) and they have a delicious tea selection. Those things win me over, and the cute atmosphere here does not hurt either. I frequent Mug Shots, my only issue is the hours. I wish they were open a little later, especially on the weekend.

Looking for a restaurant for lunch during our recent visit to historic downtown Allegan, we found 'Minnie Sophrona's'. This is a nice little café with good home-cooked fare. We had a delicious Hawaiian Burger and a patty melt. Both were great and clearly hand-made. There seem to be very few dining places in the downtown area, but this is a good choice. We were told it has been in business for nearly 30 yrs. Named after the owner's grandmother, Minnie.

Fresh American Cuisine Using Fresh, Lically Sourced Foods. Made From Scratch Daily. First Class Burgers, Steaks, Chops, Poultry & Seafood.
Allegan, which is hardly known as a fine dining destination, has taken a step up! We receive an email notice and decided to try it on our next pass through the town. Our first experience was excellent on all levels, hospitality, service and of course, food. We were there on a week night and it was reasonably crowded, suggesting that the locals are happy to have this restaurant in their area. We'll be back. Oh, the bar is cozy and the bartender friendly, too.

Corky's is a seasonal drive-in that I look forward to visiting every spring/summer. They have your typical drive-in food, and a delicious sweet chili on their famous chili dogs! While they have won "best burger" the last 3-4 years, I don't think it's anything special, but I do love their chili dogs and draft root beer! Be sure to bring cash when you stop in, it's the only form of payment they accept (I wish they would get a Square and accept credit cards, I'd even pay an extra 3% on my bill!).

My extended family and I ended up here after another restaurant was not able to accommodate our party of 11. I was a little concerned about going in because we have 3 small children in our group but I'm glad we did. The place is small on the inside with tight seating quarters but the service and food were fantastic. Everybody in the group really enjoyed the food and left feeling satisfied. You know when you leave a place and think "that was really good." I would check this place out.

This is a great place to have a really good breakfast meal or lunch. Went there yesterday for lunch and I love their hamburger deluxe along with an order of fries (krinkle cut) and everything was delicious. The place is great with lots of locals eating there. Would highly recommend for a fun, delicious lunch or breakfast meal. Only open until 2 pm daily.

Good pizza (not great), friendly staff in a small, rundown shop in Allegan. By the appearance of the outside (horrendous) we almost walked away. However, given the two pies for $18, we ordered up four medium (14") pizzas and went on our way. The ingredients we fresh, but the sauce lacked much flavor and the crust was a it too hardened for my palate. Overall, a good bargain and a decent meal.

Very good food. Decor is very 1950's and cute. Several in our party ordered milk shakes and were very happy with them. Their specialty seemed to be the marshmallow malt. We got there at 11:00, we asked at 11:30 what time they closed and she informed us it would be 1:00 - as the waitress was locking the door. Seemed weird but if they are open you should give it a try.

Use to go there but not in the regular bar scene and it turned me off last time I went. They used to have decent food and entertainment but have not heard they do any more.
