It is a beautiful hotel, and it is very convenient for attractions in Alishan. Staff at the front desk are very nice and helpful. However, we will not choose this hotel again if other options available. (1) This hotel is very expensive! However, their service is far from satisfactory. It seemed that they never vacuum clean the floor, hair and dirt had stayed at my room and corridor from the day I stayed. (2) We stayed there 3 nights, the price included buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. However, the food was just so and so. The average expense for 1 night in Alishan House would allow us to have a big feast both breakfast and dinner in a very nice Japanese hot spring ryokan! (3) Taiwan is under a strict mask policy, especially in restaurant. All hotel guests are told to wear masks and disposable gloves when leaving their dining tables to take food. However, some staff in restaurant and coffee shop who served food for guests wore their masks halfway from their nose or even under their mouths. Alishan is really a beautiful place and worth visit again, but lodging really is a headache!

The room was old and outdated. The bathroom was old and moldy. The sink leaks making the bathroom floor perpetually wet. So far it is the worst hotel we’ve been to in Taiwan. It was raining the whole day, we missed the sunrise, and finally opted to walked the trail in the rain, else the trip would be pointless. At least the staff was very friendly and they provide a van to pick up/send to the bus terrminal.

If you enjoy freezing your ass off then this is the place for you. The rooms have no heating even though the front desk said the central heating would be turned on at 8.30pm or 9pm. Other than that, the rooms are clean and spacious, the WiFi is fine, there is a water cooler, and there is a bathtub with very hot water. The best part of this hotel is that it's the closest one to the railway station.

ing Shan Hotel offers rooms in Zhongzheng. Featuring free shuttle service, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. A tour desk can provide information on the area. Guest rooms in the inn are equipped with a kettle. With a private bathroom fitted with a hot tub and free toiletries, certain units at Cing Shan Hotel also have a mountain view. All units are equipped with a flat-screen TV
This is a good hotel considering your options for staying within the park. Some reviews note that the bathroom lacks basic amenities like a shower curtain but that’s par for the course for any establishment that’s not completely 100% westernized. As a family traveling with 2 boys the place and the included breakfast served as a good headquarters for our hikes. Staff was knowledgeable.

Great location, close to shops and parking lot. Staff helpful and friendly. Only issue was that the room was not thoroughly cleaned when we checked-in. Food selection during breakfast was OK, authentic Taiwanese cuisine.

If you're planning to travel to Alishan, especially if your are planning on watching the sunrise, you need to stay at one of the properties in the village. The problem is they know that they are in demand, and people will stay regardless the amenities and condition of the hotel. Alishan Dengshan Hotel Falls in this category. This is priced like a midrange hotel, but is more like a 1-star property. This was worse thatn some of the Motel 6's I stayed in the US. I was aware before hand that there was no lift/elevator, and no heat. Those were not the issues. The blankets, towels, and pillows looked liked they were from the 1970's. The were worn down and stained. Behind the headboard, there is a cabinet storage area. My dad was curious and opened the cabinet on his side of the room, inside the there was black mold lining the inside and the smell punched you in the face. There were live exposed electrical wires that came out of the wall next to the hot water kettle. We made the mistake of paying for a tour through the hotel rather than taking the old railroad. While the driver was safe, I could barely hear her, and she didn't really explain our surroundings. She asked if we could see this or that, but the issue was, it was pitch black dark and the van windows were tinted. If I could pull some positives out of this experience is that they picked us up from the park entrance and dropped us off there as well. Breakfast is at the sister property Alishan Kaofeng Hotel. It was very basic, porridge with toppings, soy milk, steamed buns, we didn't try it based on the looks of that property. If you're willing to spend more money I would try to go to Alishan House, located inside the park.

We booked one week in advance and just before the Lunar New Year so we were happy to have a place to stay. Would not have chosen this hotel otherwise. Pro's: staff is very nice, close to the recreation area. Con's: mold in the bathroom, towels felt like sandpaper, torn sheets, filthy carpet. Just everything is old and worn down. Breakfast is a street further, very crowded and overall nothing to show up for.

We went through countless review for Alishan hotel and come across this one at reasonable price. It is turned out to be better than what we expected. Location was good, it is right next to Shurmuh International Hotel which is the first hotel you will reach when you arrive at Alishan. Hotel name is a bit tricky though, make sure to look for Maria Hotel instead of Mei Li Ya (I think Mei Li Ya is how they pronounce it in Chinese). It is located behind Information Center and is about 5 minute walk to Alishan Station. It is a standard local hotel, so my suggestion is to lower your expectation. Front desk staff, a guy, was friendly and trying to help us despite his limited English skill. He even uses the translation application on his phone to answer some of our question. We can communicate with him just fine without any problem during our stay. Hotel also provide coupon for breakfast at another restaurant which taste just okay for me. To find the restaurant, look straight to the stairway where the left one lead you to 7-11 and Alishan Station, take the right one and it will be the first restaurant up there. Our room was okay. It was not as dusty and horrible as we've read in the review but there is no way to take a shower without splashing water all over the bathroom. However, they provide you an electric blanket which will keep you warm at night (we went there in late Oct, it was 14 degree or less) and it could be the best thing you could've asked for there. I'm not saying it's great. But this one could easily be one of the best hotel you can get consider the price and limited option in Alishan area.

There was some sort of rot and decay under the sink. The bathroom ceiling is molded. The shower curtain is moldy and there was no soap in the dispensers, not to mention how poorly it’s set up to use resulting in water everywhere. A puddle of water was in the tub from previous use. There were small biting bugs and the noise out in front of the building from people was constant and loud, including the early morning crowd catching the train to the sunrise. The mattress was like sleeping on the ground. The staff were nice enough with checking in, although we had a guide speaking the local dialect, but the general state of the place is horrible. I can’t believe that tour companies book into the place. The breakfast is very traditional and limited seating, the cook was wearing rubber boots....sooooo....it was more of a feeding assembly line.....it was an experience. The internet worked okay.

Great location in Alishan with nice trails around the minsu. Room looks out to tea plantations. Has an area for watching sunrise which is a 10 min slow walk from your room. The family room has nice loft for the third bird. There is balcony that looks out to plantations. Otherwise the room itself is pretty basic but comfortable. Some cute elements here and there. The breakfast is Taiwanese buffet style - not the best. The hotpot dinner is worth it especially on a cold night. The minsu in Alishan are mostly overpriced so this one is worth your money. Just don’t mind some of the decor, which was not to my taste
