Calamari which was divine! I had sea bass and my husband had sardines which came with potatoes! Delicious! We were stuffed but still had pudding! Local fig and almond tart! deliciosa

My wife ordered Sardines with where ok, and I ordered chicken. The chicken was very dry, hard and not very tasty. On top the french fries finale came 20 min after the Sardines & chicken where served, because the chef waiter took the french fries out of the hands of our waiter and gave them to other customers.

The Restaurant Retiro do Pescador is located in the village of Sagres, in a quiet and peaceful place and with a family atmosphere, with capacity for 130 people. With a good menu of fish and seafood always fresh. Accepts group reservations.
My partner and I ate here before watching the sun set over the Atlantic (another must). We were greeted by friendly, attentive staff who had a good knowledge of the menu and were able to provide recommendations based on our likes/dislikes. We ended up choosing the catch of the day which was trapper fish. We were presented with the fish as we'd never heard of it. Although the fish was very ugly, it tastes phenomenal and was meaty and filling. Our waiter was quick to assist us in serving the fish to maximise the amount of "meat" we could get from it which was immensely helpful. The fish was grilled and seasoned with oil and salt but it was perfection! We had the fish served with potatoes, veg and salad and the meal was so filling, we couldn't manage any dessert. This place is good value for money, delicious food and impeccable service. An absolute must if you're in the area!
