Faro is the best-known city in Portugal’s deservedly famous Algarve region. There’s an archaeological museum and a “Bishops’ Palace,” a Renaissance cathedral that was heavily bombed during World War II, but later rebuilt. Nearby in Estoi are Roman ruins, and Albufeira, also nearby, is a formerly quaint fishing village influenced by the Moors in the 8th century. It’s situated in a cliffside location, and has become famous for its beaches (there are 20) and nightlife.

We arrived at evening opening time, greeted by a very friendly waiter. Starters were joined by complimentary bacalau croquettes - all tasty. Mains of steak (cooked to perfection), pork/clams & tuna salad - all presented well & again tasted fresh & amazing. Finished with great coffee & a lovely complimentary almond liquor - we will definitely be back for more!

Hidden gem. We struggled to find good vegetarian meal in Faro and after reading reviews on trip advisor we decided to check this place. Few tables only and we had to wait for our turn. Great music in the background. We had sheep cheese, goat cheese, sautéed veg with feta, raclette with sweet potatoes and sautéed potatoes. 2 glasses of red wine. All delicious. I believe we were served by the owner. Definitely recommend if youâre looking for unpretentious and authentic place.

The restaurant looks like a new one, the waitresses are nice and polite but they speak nothing but portugues. The food is very good but the portions are pretty small. Be careful regarding the starters (bread, olives, butter and several sauces) because they will bring to you without even asking and they will charge it. The service is pretty slow and even if you reserve a table you will get the food pretty later. Furthermore in 2019 I can't accept that it's not possible to pay by cards and the nearest atm is pretty far away by walk from the restaurant. In conclusion the food is very good but the price is high compared to the quality. I give 4 stars but they should deserve less. Renovated space next to the Carmo Church, turned to modern times, in a pure, familiar atmosphere and good friendships. Its gastronomy is turned to tapas, cataplanas, fresh seafood from the Ria Formosa, rice, wine and excellent sangrias. Specialty of the h

The São Pedro Grocery store is a place where you can feel like a "home", where you can taste our "Tapas" between the mountains and the sea. The idea is that of the typical Portuguese grocery store where you could look for fresh produce and you could "kill
We came here following TripAdvisor review and weâre not disappointed at all! Itâs pretty small place and itâs difficult to get the table there. Food is prepared by family who cooks and serve! Menu is simple and easy to choose. All tapas were super tasty! Interior is warm and welcoming. On that day they were missing âDadâ so they were really busy but managed very well. This is place that you canât miss on your trip to Faro!

Just up from the Columbus Wine and Cocktail Bar is a restaurant with a quaint outdoor dining area with tables formed of old stacking pallets and a small indoor area. Taking cash only (ATMs are a few minutes walk away) it serves up delicious food.Immediately upon asking if a table was available we were made to feel at home. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and will accommodate any required needs.Once seated we opted for the bread, butter and olives as a starter which came with the restaurant's own homemade and rich garlic butter before choosing from their tapas inspired menu. They recommended four to five dishes and we opted for the former in the form of octopus, chorizo, pork cheeks and potatoes with aioli. This was plenty of food and each dish was satisfying in it's own way. The pork cheeks in particular were our favourite, but we couldn't fault any dish. With a bottle of water, glass of wine and a craft beer thrown on top of the food the bill came in at 60euros for two which we found was very fair. When we visited it was the 8th best restaurant in Faro (out of 400+), according to this website, and we could certainly see why. A must visit.

Came to pig and cows for my girlfriends birthday. lillia was an amazing host. The duck confit was incredible and the cod was beautifully cooked. They made an extra effort to explain the menu and even brought out candles and sang a Portuguese happy birthday! Had an amazing time here. Thoroughly reccomended to anyone visiting faro!

Impromptu lunch date with my youngest.Excellent value for 2 course lunch special. Food was delicious & service top notch.Couvert was spot on: warm bread rolls, homemade tuna terrine, soft butter with oil/balsamic. We enjoyed a walnut salad and a tuna nicoise to start followed with a chorizo risotto & chicken fajitas. Delicious indeed. Doggy bag required! Make a date here, you canât go wrong.
