We have been lucky enough to visiit O Monchiqueiro and their sister restuarant O moinchqiueiro 2 (at the other end of the same road) on numerous occasions during the past few years. Both restaurants are to be highly recommended and we have never had anything that has not been absolutlery delicious at either. I must say however, that at least once per visit, we just have to go and sample their pork & clams. We have tried this dish at several other restaurants in the past, but these are second to none and now the only place we will have them. A bottle of wine, a portion of bread to mop up the juices and you really are in complete heaven!

A great cafe just next to the cathedral in Silves. Very popular with English tourist for a great welcome and good value food and drink
After climbing the road leading to the cathedral and the castle, a small break at the café da Sé will be more than welcome: warm and cold beverages, fresh orange juice, toasts, sandwiches.Very peaceful place where you could spend hours without seeing the time goes by

Welcome to Café Inglês, Silves - Algarve Probably the most charismatic place throughout the Algarve and some even say in all Portugal ... Situated in the heart of historic Silves, between the castle and IbnAl-Mutamid-Amar and a gorgeous Gothic cathedral,
Having visited the castle, museum and cathedral this was close by and had good TA reviews. Beware there are steps to reach the cafe but some going up from the cathedral do at least have a hand rail. The menu was simple straightforward fare and it was nicely cooked. We only wanted a light bite so I settled for one of the half pizzas offered and we shared these with ham, chips and two soft drinks. A total of â¬18.75 which was reasonable and it was all tasty and enjoyed on the shady terrace. Inside looks quaint and interesting too. Service polite and efficient and swift. Entirely happy to go again and to recommend.

Bit off the beaten track but worth finding. It's relaxed yet professional, very friendly, welcoming staff. Good food, l had lamb, partner had wild boar - both delicious. Interesting covers, lovely puds. Half carafe of vino, bottle of water and coffees, around £20 each and worth every penny. Highly recommended, thank you!

We had Sunday lunch here and the place was full - packed with families and groups, both Portuguese and tourists. It serves traditional food, well-done, decent portion sizes, and mid-priced. Service was fine, considering how busy they were, very friendly, and there was live music at one point ( a plus or a minus depending on your preference...).One of our better meals during our time in the south.

With 40 years of history promoting the Algarvian confectionary.
Lovely shop and cafe. Fresh fruit juices and fresh tarts. A nice 11sees on a hot day. Good table service. Nice gift shop.

Everything was delicious and the staff is amazing! Wilson is a great guy. This was the prawn week so the dishes with prawns were very good. You also have a variety of meat and fishes dishes..

The cooking style of Restaurante "O Barradas" is based on original Portuguese cuisine and recipes adapted into a more contemporary defined taste. We only chose the best ingredients often found in the local region and serve daily fresh fish caught in Sagre
Five of us had a brilliant dinner here last night. The setting is lovely as are the staff. Service was faultless as was the food. Octopus salad was delicious. The John Dory beautiful. The fig ice cream worth a visit on its own. A quality restaurant.

Took friends that have never been before. Greeted by Magda and Mara in nice friendly manner. goats cheese starter excellent. Prawns with Cajun pasta for me and Duck a la orange for my friend very well presented tasted delicious. White chocolate panacotta to die for. Eddy the chef cones out to ensure your meal is up to standards and a chat. This is the best restaurant in the Algarve you must give it a go. Always busy great atmosphere..

How this restaurant is not in the top 10 in Carvoeiro is beyond me because the service and food are out of this world, most probably because it used to be called Biffe until a new owner bought it and its the appearance from the road doesnât help and the name doesnât exactly slip off the tongue but please donât be put off by that because if you like fish then order the grilled mixed fish with potatoes and vegetables itâs absolutely amazing for â¬15 !! or the monkfish and rice - fantastic flavours, itâs a sister restaurant to âA Galeâ across the road so that speaks for itself. This restaurant deserves a better rating than TA give it but itâs up the customers and reviewers to give it the rating it deserves. Just try it. The fish grill consisted of tuna steak, salmon, scallop, codfish, King Prawn and langostino served with potatoes and vegetables Thank you so very much.....Your comment make me so happy This is why I love my job. Best regards
