This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Tavira. Slightly out of the main tourist area, just a short walk from Bishop's square. The dishes are really flavoursome and come in largish portions. I had chicken with ginger, coconut milk, raspberries and peaches - a really amazing combination of ingredients which work perfectly together. The house rose wine is excellent. There are tables inside and outside.

Small portions of perfectly cooked tuna and sword fish served at a delightful spot on the quayside. We thought the tiny portion of accompanying salad was perhaps more for decoration than anything else and hence a littler meagre for consumption. No serious complaints, but I think we will try another restaurant for our next visit. It just didn't really sparkle like the sea.

This little restaurant is tucked away in the streets of Tavira but well worth seeking out. We hadn't booked but they squeezed us in despite being busy. We eat a mix of vegetarian and seafood tapas and enjoyed them all.The portions are large so two each is probably enough, at least to start with. The restaurant is authentic and atmospheric. The service is good.Enjoyed it very much.

Nikita is a restaurante, Bar and café. We serve first class Thai food cooked by our Thai chef. We also have many vegetarian dishes.
We had a warm welcome from Leina and great food from Nelson.Everything was fresh and local and portions generous. The Moroccan lamb and the garlic prawns were our favourites. Prices are good for the quality of food offered. They were happy to adapt a few menu choices for me as I am coeliac and cannot eat gluten. We ate here twice and the quality was consistent both times. We would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My wife and I had a late lunch/early dinner here on our 5th day in Tavira. In a quiet residential area of Tavira, this little restaurant is easily missed being small.A husband and wife duo present wonderful authentic cuisine from the Dao region of northern Portugal. Each dish has a story as has the gorgeous wine on offer. Only about 16 covers so best to book as only serving until 5pm each day.We booked to return again but had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. We will make up for that loss when we return to Tavira.

My husband and I dined here twice based on recommendations and some convoluted story about owner's grudges with a restaurant down the road. Both times the grilled Octopus, and Octopus Bean Stew and Fresh Tuna salad paled in size and taste to what Casa Do Polvo offers. The food was average. Not horrible. Not super tasty. Great view of the water. Decent red wine sangria. Staff was less than friendly on our first visit and much nicer on the second. My guess is the smaller portion size and resulting slightly cheaper price is the draw since the menu and view are somewhat similar to other octopus joints on the main road! For our next octopus fix, we'll head down to the eastern end of town and grab Casa Do Polvo's Polvo Assado!

We wandered into this restaurant to ask directions, and ti seemed so interesting that we came back in the evening. We were very glad that we did. The menu is distinctly odd, basically tapas and snacks, but they turned out to be unusually good. They do all sorts of good things with tuna and bacalao, and an excellent little beef sandwich. We kept wanting to order more. They also had some good deserts. We were served by a couple of Angolan (I think) who couldnpt hve been friendlier or more eager. We will go back here next time.

The best octopus that I have ever eaten. Octopus carpaccio starter and grilled octopus main course were both fantastic - simple but sooo good. Definitely worth a visit. You may have to wait a while to be seated but it is well worth it.
