Reviewed By alexd478Just a thoroughly mediocre hotel, not remotely worth what they charge. Having said this I don’t know if there’s anywhere better nearby. Key concerns are a pretty terrible breakfast, an emergency number that doesn’t work, an over populated grounds, housekeeping that doesn’t clean and mediocre service all around.

We didn’t have a direct Loch view but our room gave us access to a shared area with the most beautiful view so I was more than happy with that. We ate in the restaurant at night the food & drinks were delicious. The service was good. The décor & the views are fab. I would highly recommend & will come back with my family. Breakfast with a view. Breakfast was brilliant no complaints we were very picked made some changes to the menu and they were very accommodating. Check in & check out was easy. I will definitely be back.

Horrible Customer service
Reviewed By Allanon03Originally we have booked for 3 nights. Unfortunately we were unable to travel due to self isolate, the owner or who? (phone number not working at all) has been refused to refund at least half of the payment, or change the date at least. I personally don't suggest that Hotel. Very poor customer service.

Reviewed By helenh567It has been while since we were here.. pre lockdown...so nice to get back here. We stayed in a 3 bed loch side lodge near the Boathouse restaurant. Recently refurbished, it was lovely and relaxing. Close to hotel and leisure centre, it was well worth travelling almost 5 hours to get here!

Situated in Gartocharn, Loch Lomond, Ardoch Cottage provides 4 Star award-winning bed & breakfast accommodation for visitors to the Loch Lomond area of Scotland all year round. The Lindsays have lovingly restored their cottage which overlooks rolling countryside towards Ben Lomond to provide a welcoming base for visiting holidaymakers. The cottage was originally a toll house on the old military road running between Stirling and Dumbarton Castles. Gartocharn, on the A811, is located on the southern shore of Loch Lomond, world renowned for its natural beauty, and is ideally situated for country leisure activities. Ardoch Cottage has 3 bedrooms and guests have a private lounge with a real log fire. All bedrooms have en-suite WC/shower, television and Tea/Coffee making facilities. Ardoch Cottage has a No Smoking policy throughout the premises. Open parking is available. Large private car park.
Good location but hard beds and poor breakfast.
Reviewed By Wanderer2011_11Location of the property and welcome by the hosts was good and they also gave us useful information about the pipe band performing nearby that evening. But we found the beds were much too firm for us and consequently we did not get a good night's sleep. The place was clean and felt very covid safe so that was a plus point. Having experienced hearty Scottish breakfasts in the past I was very disappointed with this aspect as I would rate it as just about adequate. Shame really as there is so much good local produce that it is not difficult to produce an excellent breakfast - the sausage in particular was awful.

Excellent self-catering accommodation
Reviewed By Fred_the_docThis was a return visit having stayed in this accommodation (Willow Cottage) last year. The accommodation is of a very high standard and was ideal for our needs. The cottage is well appointed with tea and coffee supplied. We visited in June so had no need of the log burner but logs were provided for visitors in cooler seasons. Central heating was also present together with a heated towel rail in the bathroom. The staff were welcoming and were available if required. The resort is a good base for touring the area with Loch Lomond, Glasgow, Glencoe and the Trossachs on the doorstep. We also visited Ayr and Turnberry on a day trip drive. The surrounding views are perfect with hills and trees surrounding the resort. There are a range of restaurants within walking distance or a short car drive but we were self-catering so unable to comment further.
