Rising out of the hilltop, the 200-seat SpringHouse Restaurant will treat diners to a local cuisine served in rustic, casual elegance. The first architectural element guests will see as they enter the main dining room is the inglenook-a large fully-functional walk-in fireplace, which served as the center of the home in medieval times. At SpringHouse, the inglenook serves as a hot appetizer station during dining hours and a classroom during the day. As they pass the inglenook guests will notice handsome bars, rough-hewn beams, hand-forged ironwork, and a magnificent open kitchen, replete with a wood-fired oven and grill. The upstairs bar and dining area will focus on small plates and provide adults a place to relax and gather. Patios with working fireplaces flank the main dining room and upstairs bar. For special events, guests are invited to reserve the Well House-a private 12-seat dining room connected to the restaurant by an underground tunnel.
Dinner was excellent. Service was great. The view when dining on the porch is gorgeous. We both had signature drinks, they Curry-osity and the Summertime Blues. Both were great but We shared a second summertime blues since we enjoyed it the most. I had the grilled tuna and loved it. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. He had the vegetable plate and added the chicken. He loved every bite. The creamed corn was exceptional. The corn bread was perfect. Great for a date night but book a reservation early!

Stopped here for lunch before going to an appointment at the nearby medical center. The place was packed when we walked in. We got seated, fed, and on the road within 30mins. The Philly cheesesteak and loaded hash browns were AMAZING! Great service with a smile and friendly faces. Would recommend to anyone.

Had to run by and pick up a meat and vegetable plate for my husband and myself. Always taste very fresh and seasoned properly, good size portions, and the price is very reasonable.

This was our first visit here. My son suggested we come here. I liked the atmosphere. We got there right at lunch so they weren't busy yet. We ordered the charred onion dip with chips for an appetizer, which was amazing!! But no sooner did we get that, our food was brought out. I had the waterdog. It was different and very good.

We left early morning on a day trip with Desoto Caverns as our destination. Wanting to see any side attractions, we watched our maps and consulted Trip Advisor frequently. Oh, and we also skipped breakfast! We chose Catherine's Market due to reviews previously posted and because we needed breakfast! It was farther off 280 than I thought but when we pulled into the lot I knew it was going to be worth it. There are quite a few other interesting things going on surrounding the market that we would go back to check on, but the market itself was a welcome site. As we made our way back to the counter to order we were stopped by 2 huge glass fronted cases of some of the most delectable breads and sweets you would ever want to see. The cinnamon rolls captured us immediately! I remember that another review had mentioned them! We captured 2 and a few other items then ordered a simple breakfast and drinks and took our loot to a high ceilinged, all glass dining area with tables, chairs and drink stations. The scenery was gorgeous! The breakfast was $5.99 and included 2 scrambled eggs, wheat toast, 4 slices of bacon and a pot of grits. They were the best grits I have ever eaten, as was the bacon. Others said the eggs were very good, had a seasoning in them that really heightened the flavors. Of course the cinnamon rolls were divine. Free refills on all drinks and thick ceramic mugs for your coffee. The market itself was loaded with many mouth watering items as well as a full fresh meat counter. We would go back just to have this same breakfast experience again, even though it was more than an hour away!

We were staying one night in Alexander City and there didn't seem to be a lot of places to choose from for an early dinner. We were certainly glad we chose Jake's. The food was good. I chose blackened tilapia with wild rice and broccoli, which was very fresh and tasty. My husband had chicken and fries. It was good to be able to choose one or two tilapia or chicken fillets. We both chose one, which was plenty and meant we didn't leave feeling uncomfortably full or guilty about leaving food on our plates. Service was pleasant and helpful - we didn't know what hush puppies were so our server described them and explained that I would get two with my tilapia.
We sat in the room at the back of the restaurant, where there is a nice, homely atmosphere.
The total bill, with a beer and two glasses of wine was under $40, which was very good value.

Its nice to be able to grab something to eat when travling late at night. This is a typical multi category menu, similar to Waffle House, somewhat more limited than IHOP. Prices are high, but not outrageuos. Hamburger was slightly greasy and the onions were fried, not raw, adding to the wetness of the burger. Fries were skinny & oil soaked, not crunchy. The food is OK The service is good, ample parking, clean restaurant & bathroom facilities,

I chose to get take out food for lunch from this local place instead of a chain restaurant since I was not in a rush like I typcially am when headed to Auburn. The staff were friendly, the order was filled quickly. I got the chicken finger snack and it was good with their local made sauce.

We enjoy Carlos almost every Tuesday and sometimes in between. The staff is always very friendly and Carlos the manager, when he is available, comes to our table and personally welcomes us. The food is very delicious and plenty of it. They are in the process of giving the restaurant an uplift and it is looking really nice.
