Being myself a regular there, having visit it for more than 40 times for dinner and lunch, as I was for business in Aleppo, it is the best place to be, try the local specialties without fear, taste a variety of kebabs, the local arak, listen to live music from a band with a singer and try at the end an excellent vanilla or chocolate ice cream and if you have some empty space left, their Arabic sweets.

This restaurant is visible from the Citadel but slightly away from the normal route from the souq to the tourist hotels and therefore not full of tour groups. If you follow the Citadel's dry moat in a clockwise direction from the entrance you'll reach it in about 5 miniutes. It's opposite the ex-passport and immigration office building. Excellent, professional service and as ever in Syria good prices. They have a web site.

My wife and I have pizza at Cantara while visiting Aleppo. The food was excellent, the service was very good and the atmosphere was lovely. The restaurant is in the courtyard of a beautifully restored home. Bathrooms were very clean too!

Went there with a group of friends . The place is very well managed . Surrounded by big trees and plenty of green space . Food is very good ; all sort of aleppo specialties , excellent personnel , very professional . We have tried two other 4&5 stars restaurants during our week end stay . This one is by far , the best !

it is an old restaurant with old syrian decoration .the dishes and glasses are not always clean,neither the bathrooms.but the food is really delicious and they give you various choices,but all of them are tasty ,if you go to aleppo you must try this restaurant at least once.
