Soul Sushi

These people take sushi to an art form. We've been coming here for years. The chef (a magician) takes his time to create the most beautiful food I've seen. A specialty of the house is incorporating local flavours and ingredients to an expert level. We ordered, we enjoyed, we ordered more, we enjoyed more, we ordered again. The bartender hand crushes the ice, and makes drinks - cocktails, mocktails, anything slowly by hand (you get your own fresh sliced fruit, to order - and comes over to ask if the flavour of the sparkling water (lemon) will work with our menu. I mean, really. Three hours of pure dining bliss. What's even better is it's unassuming - no attitude or tourist frivolity here. and THANK GOD they don't have music blasting - you can actually enjoy your dinner guests. If you don't speak Portuguese, the entire staff will enjoy stopping by to engage in English. We arrived at 8, and finished a gorgeous desert sampler for 4 at 11pm. Tips: I think it's better than anything in central Lisbon - worth the 15 minute drive; it's in a wind-ey place, and a shopping centre that looks closed - it's not - it's upstairs. Don't be in a hurry, and don't be a tacky tourist. Go for pleasure, TIP THEM, and enjoy the experience. The only thing they don't do is after-dinner foot rubs.Thank you very much! We hope see you in another time. Best cumplements, The manager
