The Bow Valley Ranche is a magnificent historical landmark tucked into a corner of Fish Creek Provincial Park, only a short drive from Calgary's downtown. Our intimate dining rooms highlight the elegant architecture of the site's original ranch house, bui
Bow Valley Ranche is a different venue for taking a client for an excellent taste experience in a more remote setting. This restaurant is especially great for events. They are very busy for Christmas season parties or events. Food is very tasty and well prepared. Service is excellent. Uber it there because itâs a little out of the way and a little far on the south side of Calgary.

A nice evening to be out and about. Hayden Block continues the trend of BBQ & Smoke joints in Calgary. Food did disappoint. 1/2 LB Side Ribs, yummy!! Not quite fall off the bone, but very close and lots and lots of meat. Had a side Macaroni Salad.$13.00 for 1/2 LB of ribs, $5.00 for a side. âFor a Sideâ thatâs a bit much. Maybe $2.00 -$3.00, but not $5.00. Drinks were market average price and a huge selection of Whiskyâs and decent selection of beer. Service was excellent, though the waitress was a little Stiff/Kurt at the beginning. She did warm up after awhile. But could have been a little more friendly. A friend had their Pork Sandwich, wow what a feast! All in told food excellent, sides need to be lower $$, come on itâs beans, coleslaw, Mac salad etc..., Not High Ticket Items here.

We had breakfast here today. We ordered the carrot cake pancakes. They were extremely small, only 2 of them and they were laden with oil. Really horrible, we couldnât eat them. The man who served us couldnât care less and didnât apologize or offer to take it off our check. The water tasted metallic, nasty. I do not recommend this place.Hi Cathy,Iâm sorry to hear you had a bad breakfast experience. We have never served carrot cake pancakes and did not have a male server working this shift. I think you may have us mixed up with another spot. Warmly, BLUE STAR DINER

Food is always incredible. Quick, attentive staff. Great menu selection and very accommodating staff that are able to help create a meal for any dietary restrictions. Overall, one of my go-to brunch places. Only downside is there is often a wait, especially if doing a weekend brunch. You can however download an app allowing you to get in line for a table while you are still at home/your hotel.

Went for dinner with a colleague. We didn't have a reservation, and the place was quite crowded, so we ended up sitting at the counter that overlooks the kitchen. This was actually really fun! The food and service were great. I would absolutely go back again!

Great, chill, cool vibe. Open kitchen, high and low tables in a nice open interesting space. Passed on the tasting menu (next time!) and went for the ribeye instead. Out of this world. Nice cocktail and wine list, great service, cool room, but the kitchen is the star here. Would recommend this place for sure.

We went based on tripadvisor reviews and weren't disappointed. Various unique pizza combos, but owner is glad to change according to specific tastes. Steady take away business while we ate in. Owner even gave us each a free cookie as we were paying!

The whole dining experience was superb and its easy to see why Vero Bistro receives such high ratings. This was a very special occasion and I visited the restaurant prior to ask for some specific considerations i.e. seating / timing of courses and they happily obliged. We were welcomed, seated immediately and were well and professionally taken care of through the entire meal. We had the Chef's Tasting - 4 courses- and were highly satisfied with each course. We had a goat cheese salad, Pici Bolognese, the duck and a delicious custard dessert. The food was very fresh and the flavours were incredible. Our server, Jody(?), made excellent recommendations for both food and wine and ensured we were well taken care of throughout the evening by checking with us at appropriate intervals. As well, the chef prepared us an additional dessert as it was a special occasion. Everything about our evening was perfect. The service, food, ambiance was extraordinary and would like to thank the staff for going out of their way to make the evening very special. We will definitely return and highly recommend Vero Bistro Moderne. We are very pleased you had a wonderful evening, and thankyou for choosing us for your special occassion, it is always our pleasure to make the best possible experience for all guests. We will share this review with Jody and all our staff, they will be pleased .Thanks again!Michael

Four key pieces separate us from a traditional steakhouse. 1) We only serve ranch specific Alberta Beef. That means we donât serve beef from anywhere else on the planet. We know our farmers and ranchers personally and respect the hard work they put into p
This was our first time and we had no expectations. We really enjoyed the food and ambiance here. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. The service however, was a bit disappointing. From poorly communitcating the Wednesday Date special, to interjecting into our conversation, she simply had an edge to her that we didnât appreciate. The worst part of it all was at the end when paying the bill, she had to remind me to tip for the full amount and not the discounted amount from our gift card. What a self serving move. Just like that, a decent night ruined by one moment and a neighbourhood customer that wonât be back.
