Everything I have ever had here has just been wonderful. Ali is a fantastic chef. He makes the best filet I have ever eaten. The prime rib and always delicious and you get an enormous portion. Love the Margarita shrimp and crab enchiladas when they have them. I also love the salad bar here. Everything is fresh and always good. Ali, Patty and Jessica go out of their way to make each meal fantastic. I will continue coming here as long as they are open.

I was passing through Albany in 100+ degree heat and when I saw the DQ on the main street through town, I just had to stop and grab some ice cream. A Brownie Cookie Dough Blizzard hit the spot. Yum! Restaurant could have used some cleaning, so I decided to take my blizzard on the road with me.

Vintage Vanilla is an active pharmacy, soda fountain, lunch stop and gift shop, all contained in a beautifully restored 1920's drug store. I stopped by for lunch and had a wonderful Turkey club sandwich. The staff were all so friendly, I had to sit at the fountain and have a chocolate shake for dessert. The gift shop is full of interesting items. A must-stop while you are walking the courthouse square in Albany.

Very friendly and prompt service and comfortable setting. Owner chef is welcoming, personable and makes sure guests are happy. Nice variety of menu choices including surprisingly good seafood dishes along with excellent beef choices- no surprise on the beef given the locale! Fresh and varied salad bar. Several of us had lunch and dinner on a few occasions without disappointment.

We visited this restaurant after a volleyball game...our team ate there also. We got great service even though the restaurant was working to serve the team first. We had Mexican food and all enjoyed their selections. However, the menu also had some great options for American food. The bread pudding with bourbon sauce is fabulous. If you look this restaurant up on the web, try putting Ice and House together as one word...that is officially how it is listed.... Icehouse.

Very nice staff - friendly and fun - Even though the server that was working with us had already been working for a long long time that day she was still outgoing and very helpful!

This is a lunch/brunch place in a converted house near the Old Jail Art Center. Half the house is an art gallery, the other half a small restaurant that serves a limited menu posted on a whiteboard. The place is cute, and the food (choices were quiche or a pork stew the day I was there) is decent. Hard-wood floors and all that...unusually urban for a town like Albany. And yet....the proprietors' heart just doesn't seem to be in it. Patrons are treated like weary obligations This place should project joy and fun, but doesn't. Word of caution. Locals downtown say they "never know for sure when Biscuit is actually going to be open." Indeed, the day I was there, at about 12:45, the "open" sign was abruptly taken down. Were they out of food? Just bored or tired of their customers? Who knows, That's kinda the vibe of the place..

We were in town for the Fort Griffin Fandangle. Arrived noonish, and after some sightseeing we inquired in a shop the location of the best burger in town and were directed here. Great suggestion!! Big and juicy with all the fixings. With the basket you get a side and your drink. We're sure we'll be back the next time we're in Albany.

Prairie Starr offers convenience store standards like stuffed jalapenos, burritos, chicken strips and more. The hidden gem part is the grill/deli in one corner of the store. We were surprised at the offerings available. A must is to check the blackboard for the lunch special available. They offer hot or cold sandwiches, pizza, bbq plus a lot more. On the day we ate there the special was a chicken fried steak sandwich. It was a good sized sandwich so we had them cut it in half for us to share (it was plenty for both of us). There is seating downstairs or up if you choose to “eat in”. We chose a delightful area along the wall with a view outside. We ate in comfort while watching folks fill up on gas and the ones traveling along the main street through the town. We will definitely eat there again when we visit Albany.
