Alaska is divided into five regions: far north, interior, southwest, south central, and inside passage. Although it takes a long time to see the entire state, you can travel through the regions by boat, car, bus, or plane. Hike through the mountains, or venture out on a deep sea fishing or whale watching excursion. Get in touch with nature by camping in the wilderness, or experience your preferred degree of class and luxury in the beautiful, active cities of Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Located in downtown Anchorage Alaska, each of the Hotel Captain Cook’s 546 luxury accommodations offer stunning views of the Cook Inlet or the Chugach Mountains. The Hotel Captain Cook, Preferred Hotels and Resorts, and Historic Hotels 2018 Hotel of Year welcome you to experience excellence.
Although used by tour groups for overnight accommodation, they seriously lack experience with managing large groups. Check-in took over 2-hours with no system for notifying guests when keys were ready, telling guests to simply get back in line to check again - eventually they resorted to yelling out names. Room was clean but unclear if bottled water was complimentary. Bell hops work very hard but schedule for luggage was 2-hour span, starting at 6 a. m. Morning bus loading was hectic with staff yelling out directions, no system again for when or how to load which did not match the printed schedule. Overall, the experience is that the hotel wanted to improve stays but getting in cruise tour support business, but the management is not engaged leaving the staff to take the brunt of disappointment from the customers.

We arrived at 9 PM, left at 7 AM, so staying at a 5 Star resort was a poor decision on my part. The hotel was upscale, but has some rinky-dink A/C system for the rooms which many people complained about. Rooms were stuffy. Restaurant was very good for the light dinner we had. Community shuttle system is so-so. For $400/night would expect to hotel is have it's own shuttle system and good a/c. The staff was accommodating- when we couldn't get our room to cool, they allowed me to pick from 4 different rooms that I checked. We moved and it was OK. Clearly the staff knows the drill. We slept well in the end.

Hyatt Place Anchorage-Midtown provides a welcomed retreat from a busy day at the office or exploring the natural wonders of Alaska. This modern hotel offers all the conveniences to help you get the most out of your stay.
I can't wait to visit Anchorage again and look forward to staying at the Hyatt Place. The service was outstanding from beginning to end. Their food at breakfast offered a great variety and the attendant was really attentive. My room was really clean and smelled nice. Front desk was friendly and always willing to answer my questions. I really like the location of the hotel as it was close to everything. Can't wait to come back!

Set on the shore of Lake Spenard next to Lake Hood, The Lakefront Anchorage is the only hotel in Anchorage that is located on a lake. Our scenic hotel near Lake Hood has daily flightseeing and fishing pickups from its own dock, from which you can also gaze at floatplanes with the majestic Chugach Mountains behind.
The hotel is located on the edge of Lake Hood, the largest seaplane base around. Right near the main airport. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We had breakfast and lunch in the hotel. both were fine, but not exceptional. The staff was stretched and tired. Tried to accommodate where they could but weren't going out of their way. More staff from Europe was just arriving the day we were there. Reasonable value for the cost.

We stayed here two nights after arriving in Anchorage for a cruise. Honestly it was much nicer than the Westmark that the Cruiseline had booked for the first official night of the tour. It was immaculately clean, good breakfast, quick airport service, and everyone was very nice.

Set on the tip of the Homer Spit and overlooking Kachemak Bay, this relaxed hotel is a 3-minute walk from the ferry terminal and 6 miles from the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. Cozy rooms, some with decks, feature satellite TV and free Wi-Fi, plus mini-fridges, microwaves and coffee makers. Upgraded rooms add bay views and sitting areas. Airy lodges with 1 to 3 bedrooms offer full kitchens and fireplaces. Parking is complimentary. There's a refined seafood restaurant with bay views and outdoor seating. Other amenities include an indoor heated pool, a beach side hot tub and a sauna.
LAND'S END is doing much better this year. Assume new management. They have a new coffee shop. some might like it as it is more 'upscale' with seats for computing, etc. Not much in the way of souvenirs. I liked their cards and tee shirts and sweatshirts. Even the neighbors were quieter! that's a biggie.

We offer four distinctly different hotel, motel and deluxe lodge-style buildings. The Driftwood Inn is a charming, historic, hotel, motel, and Inn located in the heart of Old-Town Homer near the beach in Homer, Alaska. Located next to Bishop's Beach in a secluded area of Old Town Homer, we offer economy rooms and a relaxed, homey atmosphere with partial views overlooking beautiful Kachemak Bay with its mountains, glaciers and coves. The Seaside & Bluffview Lodges feature modern and spacious lodging overlooking Bishop's Beach with breathtaking views of Kachemak Bay. The seaside Kachemak Cottage and intimate RV Park are located adjacent to the Inn; just a few steps away. The Woodside Fishing Suites are located about a block away on Pioneer Ave and feature 1 and 2 Bedroom Suites with kitchenettes.
My husband and I have stayed at the Driftwood Inn many times in the past 10+ years. We have stayed in a variety of their rooms and were excited to try the tiny little mermaid house. It is a bit expensive, but a cute little cabin in the RV park with its own bathroom and kitchen, so I think it is worth it. It is a little bright in the summer (could use some curtains on the front door), but otherwise we enjoyed our two nights there.

Small, cozy hotel with friendly and helpful front staff. Rooms are extremely clean, worth high comfortable bed. Shower was in our room (first floor) but that really isn’t a problem. Rain shower head was just lovely. Room includes a refrigerator and coffee maker, internet works well. Restaurant area was closed (Covid) but a lovely custom cooked full breakfast was delivered to the room. Only caveat is that the bed really is extremely high, so not good if mobility challenged. There are rooms on the first floor but no elevator for rooms on 2nd or 3rd floor.
