Simply paradise!
Reviewed By Walliser_Irina1We stayed in this lodge for 3 nights and fell in love with this absolutely awesome place! Our room had beautiful river view and open bathroom, where small kolibries were drinking flower nectar every morning:) Mornings we woke up to the sounds of birds singing and roars of the Kongo monkeys. Our room was quite big with own terrace, had WiFi, air conditioning and coffee-machine. The hotel territory was perfect for us, with lots of plants and trees, almost every day we ate carambola, cacao fruits harvested directly from these trees. There is also a viewpoint where you can enjoy sunset and birds feeding in the morning. The food was super tasty, really homemade! Everyday something new, so we were looking forward to our breakfasts and dinners. There is another feeding point for the birds just in front of the restaurant, so you have breakfast with parrots, tucans, kolibries and many many other birds. We made kanu tour and boat tour with Elmer and can absolutely recommend it! Elmer helped us during all 3 days of our stay, if we had any questions or requests he was always there for us. He knows a lot about birds, animals and plants and he is very friendly, nice and interesting companion:) We were traveling without rental car so at the beginning we worried about how to get to Boca Tapada lodge but the owners ( Alfonso, his daughter and wife) helped us without any troubles to get to the lodge and then on our way back to get to Quesada city where we took our bus to Airport. Very beautiful and kind family who has created this small paradise with an amazing atmosphere and where you feel like home! We can only recommend Boca Tapada lodge! Gute Lage für Besuch Vulkan Poás
Reviewed By Sherly35Wir haben uns diese Unterkunft ausgesucht, weil wir relativ schnell zum Vulkan Poás kommen wollten. Da der LH Flug abends ankommt und wir gleich für den nächsten Morgen um 9.00 Uhr die Führung reserviert hatten, war die Kombination optimal. Die Gastwirtin Doris war sehr nett und zuvorkommend und hat uns mit vielen guten Tipps und Anregungen schon vor der Anreise und während des Aufenthalts versorgt. Das Zimmer war gut ausgestattet und lag im kleinen Innenhof, das Badezimmer war klein, aber ausreichend. Unser Auto konnten wir auf dem geschlossenen Privatgelände parken. Das Frühstück bestand aus frischem Obst, Kaffee/Tee, Gallo Pinto (Reis mit Bohnen), Speck und Ei - also ganz typisch für Costa Rica - und schmeckte lecker. Wie gesagt, für unser Vorhaben war die Unterkunft optimal, ohne Auto oder wenn man gerne abends zu Fuß in ein Restaurant möchte, liegt sie aber zu weit außerhalb von Alajuela.

The National Park is currently closed and therefore so is the accommodation but they are still takingbookings
Reviewed By TeamPrashExtremely disappointed by this company. The accommodation is within the boundaries of the national park which is currently closed due to Volcanic activity and has no expected opening date, you cannot therefore stay at this accommodation. We booked on the 25th April 2017 for a visit in August. The park was closed indefinitely on the 13th April following an eruption and a further eruption in June meant it would not open any time soon and yet they still took our booking and didn't inform us of any potential cancellations. They cancelled our booking on the morning we were due to arrive!! Had we known the accommodation was closed we would have changed our plans but we were forced to stay in a shoddy cabin of one of their "mates" . Do not book to stay here unless the national park is open. They are still taking bookings from January onw ards even though it is not known when the park will open.
