Enjoyable holiday with family, from start to finish. Flying from East Midlands was completely stress-free. Our bags were available as we passed through the Covid passport check; into the arrivals hall where our transfer driver was waiting. Our rooms were located on the top floor, light and airy, very clean and tidy, A fantastic view of the sea and main pool area, and even Majorca in the distance. I found the bed very comfortable, lovely pillows which were just right for me, so sleeping was easy. The food was excellent, something for everyone. Have to say that the sweet selection was not sparkling; mega-disappointed that I didn't get flan. Breakfasts were outstanding, and the oranges, so juicy.... Pool area and main pool was clean and tidy, and very peaceful. We never had a problem finding sunbeds for our party of 6. The main lifeguard was extremely fastidious and attentive to any minor indiscretion to the rules. We were slightly surprised to find the pool closing at 6.0pm when advertised to close at 8.0pm Proximity to the beach is a big plus, although it was quite busy at times. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful, as were all the staff, restaurant and reception alike. The cleaners were brilliant, rooms cleaned to a high standard, and the provision of red towels for the pool was a genius idea. All too soon, our friendly mini-bus driver was at the hotel lobby waiting to take us back to Mahon airport, for a very smooth return home. Highly recommended.

Stayed May Half Term, giving 5-stars based on value and service. First, the junior suites are ample and have lovely decor. We are a family of 4 (2 x children aged 11 & 12). Beautiful countryside views. We loved the patio area and listening to the cockerel! We booked this hotel as quiet and didn't want entertainment. Pools were cold in May, but the pool area and gardens were better than expected, well maintained with a lifeguard from 10 am - 6 pm and always had a sunbed. We had breakfast included, and there was something for everyone. The staff were friendly and worked hard. It has indoor and outdoor seating. Glad we opted to have it included. The supermarket is next door, I thought a tad pricey (apart from wine & beer!) but a good selection of essentials. The walk into town/beach was 20 minutes each way. It was fine for us. Occasionally we booked the minibus and never had a problem with space. The reception staff were efficient, helped us book horseriding (opposite) and would highly recommend it for families. The horseriding staff are also great with beginners. There is building work, but we noticed no disruption. A downstairs eating area will be a great addition once finished. Outside the hotel is a trail (Cami de Cavalls). We walked to Santo Tomas and back, approx 5 km each way. Lovely countryside and coast, we saw a tortoise and baby pigs!!! It is an easy walk if not too hot. It does get a bit tricky into Santo Tomas (so recommend suitable footwear!). We found Son Bou very quiet but enjoyed it. We ate out in a few different places. We found Las Dumas the best for us. While not gourmet cuisine, the service was excellent. Also, Alessandro's is good (they also do lovely takeaway pizza), which we enjoyed for a change one night. Lunch at Cabacabana Burger (a nice little quirky place) and Hawaii Bar - all these places had excellent service. Thank you HG Jardin!

Pros: -Quaint relaxing setting with sea views in the distance, green lush surrounding -Large well decorated rooms, small terrace where you can enjoy a coffee and breakfast -Concierge was good - helped us book restaurants and a scooter Cons: -Swimming pool not heated -Hotel restaurant can offer a bit more given the price tag (we were spoilt by great food in Menorca at this stage…)

Menorca Experimental is nestled in a green and peaceful atmosphere in Menorca Island. Former 19th century finca, in the spirit of an artist's holiday home, the finca’s 43 rooms include nine private villas, each with their own dipping pools. The hotel is also a few meters from the first calas. The restaurant's menu focuses on fresh, seasonal produce from our own vegetable garden.
Stayed 3 nights part of a small group of world travellers. Best part of experience was departing! Food, lunch dinner is sharing Tapas, limited menu, worse tapas I’ve eaten, service almost none existent, server communications poor (lack of English), little menu flexibility. Hotel in a remote region, alternate restaurants required travel to Mahon or elsewhere. Rooms are spartan, certainly not worth €340 euros per night. Recommend avoid.

Arenas de Son Bou Hotel is located directly on the magnificent beach of Son Bou, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, where the white color of its sand meets the clean and crystalline sea of its waters. Built in 1999 and completely renovated in 2018, the hotel has an informal atmosphere with 94 rooms decorated in a modern style, of which 60 are double rooms and 34 are family rooms, consisting of two rooms, one of them as a double bed and the other with two sofas. which allow a family stay with privacy. It has a buffet restaurant with Mediterranean and international cuisine, with show cooking of pasta, meat, fish and vegetables. Two bars, one internal and one next to the pool that allow an uninterrupted service of drinks and snacks from 10 am to 11 pm. Its two swimming pools, the one for adults measuring 33 x15 m. and the one for children, with a diameter of 5m and a depth of only 40 cm. They are equipped with hammocks and parasols, allowing the enjoyment of all members of the family. It has a small sports field, what allows the game of volley-ball, petanque and other outdoor sports.
Very nice hotel located in Son Bou, excellent cooking, with great surprise the hotel was full of italians and the chefs were wonderful, so many different theme and dinner variety. animation only in italian for which we did not participate but also all very nice. Hotel manager always present. very good cleaning of the rooms. the hotel is located near the sea but it is not provided for access to the beach. Thanks to Andrea, the Italian waiter for his kindness.

We have just returned from a brilliant holiday! The hotel was lovely, excellent hotel staff and they catered very well for the whole family (including freshly cooked vegetarian coeliac / gluten free options which I requested every lunchtime and dinnertime). We were so pleased with our family holiday. The hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly and the staff certainly made the holiday a success. Jet2 were also excellent from start to finish. We were waiting for two years to enjoy this holiday and we left feeling very happy and refreshed! Thank you!

Positives first: Very peaceful location. Our week here was relaxing especially as property was nearly empty at end of season. We were given a room upgrade without asking which was nice- room was most spacious and bed was very comfortable. Lovely views over beautiful grounds. Staff were always friendly and eager to help. Breakfasts served outside were great- good choice and healthy options available. We were very keen to relax on this holiday and this hotel is great for that- all you will hear are birds chattering, cows mooing and the odd dog barking! Great central location for visiting different parts of this very beautiful island. Negatives: I’m afraid there were a few. There was no shelf in the shower to place your soap, shampoo etc so were forced to scrabble around on the floor for everything. Reminded me of a student hostel in that respect. When I queried this, was told owner is aware of complaints but refuses to do anything about it! Very odd - can’t imagine he puts up with this in his own house. Also no tissues in bathroom. When I asked for some, I was handed a plate with restaurant napkins! Asked again and was given a box of tissues - the kind you find in every 5 star hotel in the world. The wardrobe is spacious but shelves underneath prevent you from hanging dresses. Bath was ultra modern but spectacularly uncomfortable to lie in. No full length mirror in our room. I had great difficulty opening our room door- the lock was so stiff, I couldn’t manage to work it. Again, have never experienced this in a 5star hotel. We ate in the first night. Had the 65 euro menu which was nothing special and far more expensive than the excellent food we ate everywhere else on the island. The dining room inside is poorly decorated and soulless bordering on the depressing. You have to inform them at breakfast if you want to eat dinner there at night. Eating on the terrace at breakfast is much better though slightly marred by seeing cleaning staff coming and going with buckets and hoovers and dirty bed linen to their work base nearby. Will we return? I’m afraid not.
