Although the food isn't that great, the workers made my evening with the amount of fun they were having. I have had better chicken, better sides, but not many that were made better by the attitude of the folks that made it.
good BBQ, good food not crowded, great taste good price, only compliant is not open enough, whish they had extended hours
Standard Captain D's restaurant, menu is picking up more grilled items. Skewered beef tips and grilled shrimp combo was good choice. Short wait time. Stuffed flounder was pictured on wall, unfortunately "We don't have that."I see a disturbing trend in these places- no stalls in the men's bathrooms. You lock the door and hope everybody is feeling well outside. I don't think the captain is worried about possible consequences. Wife says the women's bathrooms are nothing to brag about either. This applies to all Captain D's I have seen lately, not just this one. They are clean but not well thought out.
Saturday morning stop. I got the platter, wife got biscuit and gravy. Grits on platter needed salt or some kind of help. We brought the average age down a little bit, not much. Nobody seemed to leave but we had to get back to work.
We're Always Cookin' There's something about a freshly made meal, prepared just for you. Maybe it's a waffle sundae to celebrate the day you get your braces off, or a plate full of loaded hash browns after a Saturday morning soccer game. Whatever the occa

Excellent service, excellent food, excellent design. I had fabulous carrot soup. My daughter had a fresh green salad. My husband had tacos. Fantastic and the staff was friendly, attentive, patient and fast. We got there right before they closed as we were driving from Selma to see the famous courthouse Harper Lee used as the basis for the courthouse in To Kill A Mockingbird. This restaurant is right in front of the courthouse. Highly recommend.

We had dinner at The Courthouse Cafe before the "To Kill a Mockingbird" play at the Courthouse, right across the street. It is your basic hometown cafe, popular with locals and tourists. Service was friendly. Food was good. No alcohol. Waitress did not write order down and forgot the fried dill pickles we ordered. Menu offers Boo Burgers and Finch fries with a nod to the novel.

This is a casual, laid-back seafood restaurant with a loyal local clientele. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful; our waitress Rudy went out of her way to take good care of us. The catfish was fresh, tender and crispy. Fried green tomatoes were the best we've had anywhere - juicy with a light cornmeal batter. Cold slaw was delicious. Prices are low, especially during weekdays, when the lunch time specials can't be beat. Ice tea is strong but not bitter with unlimited refills. Highly recommended.
