We were traveling home and my husband became ill. We stopped in Tuscaloosa so he could get meds and rest for the night. I was starving and needing food!! Captain D's was near our hotel so I decided that was dinner. I went in to grab some takeout. Everyone was very polite and service was fast. It must be a favorite in the area as it was busy!!! As fast as one left another was walking in. A lot of times this can of busy can stress and frustrate works. However, this group never missed a beat!! Stayed friendly, smiling and right on point the enter time.

COME TO A PREFERRED CATFISH RESTAURANT IN TUSCALOOSA, AL If you have a hankering for seafood, sit down for a made-to order meal at Catfish Heaven. We're a superior seafood restaurant in Tuscaloosa, AL because all of our meals are prepared fresh daily. Whe
Do you sometimes...ok....maybe just once in a long while...wish you were at your grandma's after grampa brought in a day's catch from the lake? Goodness gracious this is good catfish! The inside of the restaurant is small and austere. Not the kind of place you want to present a ring and propose marriage. But it is old style hole-in-the-wall, and it works if you don't mind that sort of thing. I don't order the fillets, I get the whole catfish, and they are consistently perfect. Moist, sweet, cooked just right near the bone, crisp corn meal crust. As good a rendition, day in and day out, of southern fried catfish as I have run across. It puts Cypress Inn in the ordinary category. On the slightly down side, the fries can be a bit soggy and almost stale. But I don't go to Catfish Heaven for the taters. The bread slice under the fish is interesting. But back on the slightly upside, the cakes are the kind Grandma did make, and they are moist, delicious and home spun. The caramel cake is my favorite. Take it home, microwave it about 10 seconds, and drop a vanilla ice cream scoop on it. My o my.It isn't called French Fry Heaven, or Ambience Heaven. It's called Catfish Heaven. And if you appreciate catfish done in the cholesterol rich, crisp and hot, old way of frying them up in that sweet, fresh, country style, you'll glance upward after eating them and briefly mutter, barely perceptibly, "Thank you, Lord."

I have eaten at this restaurant quite a number of times, as well as other Shrimp Basket restaurants on the Alabama and Florida gulf coasts. I have always enjoyed the food there, but this time it was not very good. The whitefish fillets were thin and greasy and the tartar sauce was absolutely tasteless. The shrimp slaw, usually a highlight for me, was also tasteless and there was not a SINGLE shrimp in mine. The service was good, but that's about all; I probably won't be going back anytime soon.Hi there, while I am glad to know the service was great, we are disappointed to learn that our location did not provide the delicious food expected of our restaurants! Thank you for letting us know of your recent experience with us, so we can work to improve our location. We hope that you will give us a second chance to impress you.

The Levee opened it's doors to the public on March 2, 2015. It is locally owned and operated by Gary McGee and Chris Bradshaw. The Levee specializes in Seafood, Steaks, Oysters, and More. The Levee is Northport's only riverfront dining overlooking the Bla
Here for a conference. Elizabeth was our server and I few like we got so lucky with her. Pleasant personality, knowledgeable of the menu and very efficient. We didnât have to ask for refills or anything. I ordered the fried shrimp plate, which came with two sides (I got the Caesar salad and steamed broccoli). The Caesar salad was a side portion but looked more like a step down from an entree salad. It was almost a meal by itself. It was very good with plenty of cheese flakes and croutons. I received 12 big and flavorful shrimp that were fried to perfection. I had to force myself to eat them all as they also bring a plate of hush puppies and rolls prior to your food arriving. Those hush puppies were crispy and hot and worth every calorie. Being from the South, I always appreciate a good glass of sweet tea. The Levee did not disappoint at all! Whole experience was great from beginning to end. Well worth the trip and I canât wait to go back.

Great setting for dinner - beautiful view up and down river. Service was very good. This review is easy - all of our food was very good (grits were really good) but only the view was excellent. Crab cake appetizer had plenty of crab but need more seasoning. Roasted chicken could have been juicier but was well roasted. Greens were a bit salty but tender and firm. You can see that a little more attention to detail and their food could match their location. I would go back.

We had several people suggest this restaurant. The service was ok overall. A few things to note: the entree order was incorrect- instead of Mahi we got very rare Ahi; salad portion was very small; and it was difficult to get attention of wait staff. I visit the area at least once a month, probably will not go back.

My fiance and I ate dinner there this afternoon and our experience was amazing! Kaitlyn, our server was exceptional. She's extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely be back soon! And we will always ask for Kaitlyn to be our server. The food was incredible. We had the Royal Reds and the Redfish. The sweet potato cream burle was awesome. Also had the bloody marys with a oyster in the bottom of the glass! Everything was great. Kaitlyn was the best part of our experience. We are looking forward to returning to Halfshell very soon.
