Passing through T town about lunch time and stopped in at Jason's for some lunch. After looking over the menu we opted for the salad bar. We have eaten here once before and was leaning that way to start with and glad we took that rout. They have a real real good salad bar if your there you do need to give it a try.

We serve up hearty portions of premium meats sliced in-house, hand-shredded cheeses and imported ingredients, scratch made sauces & dressings and fresh fruit & vegetables chopped in-house every day. All served with a generous dose of hospitality. Our Kitc
Newk's has interesting, healthy choices on their menu. Good variety. Seems to have a lot of seating. We ate outside on the patio and was very comfortable enjoying the Springtime weather. Only complaint was that my sandwich was not exactly as ordered. I think they misunderstood my accent so I didn't complain. Was interesting trying something I wouldn't have normally ordered.

Two families with kids stopped here en route from an outing to Moundville Archeological Park. (FYI- there is a park across McFarland Blvd. from Manna if the kids need to run around more after lunch.)The small, organic grocery is very nice, having offerings one can't even find at Whole Foods. So, kudos on the atmosphere.I (mainly vegetarian + heart-healthy)really liked the menu choices. I also liked that I could stroll over to the grocery refrigerated cases to get a kombucha for me and funky, caffeine-free root beer for my son.Unfortunately, all of my food turned out to be bland. My kale side salad was super-bland, even with vinaigrette and added pepper. Surprisingly, my goat cheese & veggie panini was bland both before and after I added various communal condiments (like hot sauce.)My fellows diners similar found their salads/sandwiches/soups very bland. The kids like their pizzas, though. While I am glad that the food was not salty, the chef can definitely amp the flavor profile up with herbs, pepper, spices, pesto, etc.

Set up on a 'hill' of 15th street, Mc Allisters offers excellent soups sandwichses ,salads. Walk up to the order bar, give your order, pay, and your selections are brought to your table.the theme is consistant with other eatting establishments. Wood paneling, wooden booths, 'modern rustic'.Plenty of free parking.
