The Vintage Year is dedicated to providing our guests with the finest hand-cut meats, the freshest seafood and outstanding wines and spirits along with excellent service!
Had brunch on an earlier visit and did dinner this time with friends. Once our server got on her game, the evening was a success. For appetizers, the cheese board was a good assembly and we appreciated the explanation of types and origins of the offerings. Crab cakes were good. Vegetable pasta was a hit, but the table winner was the fried oyster special. Plump, succulent, lightly breaded and flash fried to perfection. Although we overheard that the head chef and assistant were not in the house, Vintage Year must have a pretty deep bench for food this good. Good wine selection and reasonably priced for this area.On behalf of the entire staff, we are pleased to hear that your visit was a success! We train everyone extensively to make for a great evening. It was nice to hear that you experienced this!

Ribs. Pork. Chicken. Brisket. Hell, even sausage. All BBQ has the same three basic ingredients: smoke, meat and time. What makes it different is the amount, consideration and attention to each part of that recipe. That, and some really great bbq sauce, to
My name is Temolia (Tem) Youngblood of 1019 Cottonwood Dr., desoto, Texas 75115. On March 4, 2019, I was traveling from Panama City, Florida back to my home in Desoto and decided to stay overnight at the Country Inn Suites in Millbrook, Alabama. After checking in, I decided to get some takeout food from JimNNick's Bar-B-Q. I arrived at approximately 10:15 pm, near the closing time of 10:30 PM. From the bar I ordered the loaded baked potato with brisket, along with collard greens. since I'm from Texas and I'm accustomed to a loaded baked potato with brisket, I was excited. but my excitment turned to disappointment when i opended the container with my food. As opposed to brisket, I had some stringy chicken or turkey along with something that resembled an empty sasuage casing and my potato and greens were cold. needless to say, I threw the container and food into the trash can.

We were first timers and we were pleasantly pleased with all facets of our experience. Our waitress, Felecia, was very knowledgeable and experienced. The dishes ordered were appealing and delicious. We look forward to coming back here soon.

The raw oysters were great. They were obviously fresh because they didn't taste fishy at all. They were also big and meaty, not scrawny and dried out like you get sometimes. We sat outside on the wood deck patio that has little lights all around it and trees growing up through the floor and the patio cover. Maybe we didn't do our math before ordering because we were a little shocked when we got our bill, $85 for two meals with appetizers. A little pricey for plastic baskets, plastic forks and styrofoam cold slaw cups. I think next time I would pass on the fried foods and just pig out on the oysters. Those were worth the visit.

Not sure about the recent lousy reviews. Surprisingly bad. I had all different kinds of oysters and they were excellent. I also had a shrimp salad, and the grilled shrimp were tasty, and nicely grilled. My daughter had bacon wrapped scallops, which she enjoyed. Service was a tad slow, but we didnât say we were in a hurry. Nice atmosphere, and, pleasantly casual. Varied seafood menu with some non-seafood options. Good restaurant in my opinion.

Service was good, food was good, atmosphere is good. The Auburn location is overall better. It did seem oddly humid inside although the temperature was comfortable. Main negative things: first, the pics on the wall by our booth had DIRTY glass--looked like old food dried on them, second, the women's room was already fairly dirty at 11:30 am.

Says on menu, ribs are grilled and things are exactly what you'd expect for that. They are tough and chewy to get off the bone. Not soft and tenderlike smoked ribs would be. Tough, the kind you need to work at, with lots of fat and gristle because they don't melt away as they do with slow cooking. This is cooking over high heat and it shows. This is the way the founder likes it as I hear. That being said, they tasted fine. Not smokey, but have a good rub and porky flavor. Rub flavor heavily depends on salt, but still ok. Only problem is for a big meaty St Louis rib, the rub doesn't flavor the center meat. I guess that is what the sauce is for. Sauce is nice and tangy good. Pulled pork is blah, bleh. No smoke flavor, no pork flavor. Needs the sauce. Not sure how cooked, since they don't smoke the ribs, doubt they smoke the pork shoulder. Oven? Anyway, while the ribs are ok, this isn't my kind of BBQ restaurant. I want smoked meat, not grilled meat.tb911, Thanks for your honest feedback. We've been doing this since 1958 and fortunately we've found that a lot of people enjoy the way we cook. Sorry it wasn't to your liking.
