Don't miss the Mandarin House - it's been in business over 25 years and is open on Christmas Day! Change your traditions and Have some Chinese food for Christmas! You will not be disappointed here -HUGE portions, lunch prices, so many choices, and the best hot and sour soup ever. I personally love anything "spicy" here as well as sesame chicken. My hubby orders Shrimp and lobster sauce and Hunan beef for his faves. Definitely worth the drive!

When you walk in at night, you wonder where everyone went. They always look empty. Part of the reason is the enormous take out they handle. Suits us fine since where can you find a quiet place? We are regulars and we love it. Sundays are our favorite. We usually get one entree and two egg rolls and split it. It's plenty for two people. This time we had the Mandarin Chicken. It was tasty as usual. See photos.

I frequently eat Japanese steak house so I have several to compare this one too as I am traveling through the area. This one certainly did not disappoint! The waiter and chef were excellent! Really enjoyed how he prepared our food. The steak was tender, the scallops were juicy and shrimp was perfect! Great veggies, rice, noodles, salad. Only downfall I would say is I wished I had an Asian soup spoon... that minor.Otherwise I was very pleased. The bar tender did well with mixed drinks and they have a decent priced menu in comparison with most steakhouses. They are not cheap but we were able to enjoy the meal and share it and was great! Would certainly recommend! I read through the reviews and was skeptical with lowered expectations but they exceeded them!

Lunch at RNRS and per our waitress suggestion we ordered the Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles all pretty yummy. Pretty cool concept of Rock n' Roll and Sushi, love it! See photosLove the memorabilia on the walls and the names of Rock groups for the sushi. Will try the Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, or Journey sushi roll next tine.

This location has always seemed to struggle for business but I think Kome is a keeper. Delicious sushi in Hoover with a great variety of noodle bowls, Bento boxes and Asian dishes. They also have an Express menu with quick items made to order. My favorite noodle bowl is the spicy beef ramen. It's just the perfect amount of spice ordered "on the medium side". Large portion and filling for the $13.99 price.

Our first experience at Asian Cuisine restaurant in Hoover. We entered the restaurant on a recent Sunday afternoon after church. The restaurant was empty when we entered. We were immediately greeted by our server, Abigail. She was very friendly and nice, but could have done a little more to build a rapport and helpful with the menu by making suggestions. I ordered tea and my wife ordered a water. Abigail served it quickly and I ordered an order of egg rolls. The menu has many pictures of the food items. Although good the egg rolls on the menu picture were more brown and fuller looking than received. A special sauce was served with them. I had Beef Pho and my wife ordered a fried won ton. I loved the Pho, the broth excellent, there was a lot of meat included along with tripe and tendon. The bean sprouts and herbs were perfect to accompany the broth and noodles. Delicous. My wife didn't care for the won ton and had a different expectation. All in all a good experience for Vietnamese Pho. A review of their health department score showed that they scored a 93 on thier most recent health inspection. Although a decent score it does show that they have some room for improvement in the fight to reduce the risk of foodborne illness.

There are plenty of places to eat in the Hoover area but Shono's has proven through the years to provide friendly service and amazing food! Unlike some of the Japanese restaurants, Shono's focuses on good quality food without all of the theatrics. Shono's is a180 from it's over priced mediocre food tasting competition! The menu is smaller but not small on flavor. The Eddie's Special is a must try along with the fish (fresh cod). I love the rice but enjoy the tasty vegetables even more so I order extra veggies and no rice. My daughter loves the chicken bowl - nice generous portion for around $5. Chef Eddie cooks all of the food to order in his open kitchen and it's ready in no time. Food is just a tasty if you want to order to go. You won't ever walk out of there hungry! Lots of places come and go in the Hobby Lobby shopping center but Eddie and Flora have loyal following of customers that have supported their small business through the years and for good reason. Try this hidden gem in Hoover off Hwy 31.

Food is affordable. The quality is awesome and the quantity is very full filling which you could have left overs! The customer service is great.! Different varieties of food to choose from. Just not your ordinary Chinese spot. Dining area is always nice and clean. Small but intimate.

Skip the decor. In fact, you might drive up to this restaurant and be tempted to turn and go in some other direction. DON'T DO THAT! You will want to eat here, again and again. This is as good as Thai food gets in the USA. Our trio of diners ordered pad thai, a curry, and a basil dish. A fight nearly broke out over which entree was best. It was unresolved. If you're really hung up on the decor, get your order to go. This place is great.
