I've lived in Leeds for over 20 years and have been here every so often over the years. It was always just average, but the last few times I've been there they've really stepped up their game. The food and service have both been very good.
If you have been to one Captain D's, you kinda-sorta have seen all of them. This one is clean, well-run and sits in a nice area. The food was slower than I expected but it was worth the wait. Better than most D's and that's saying something. Extra parking in rear if you are pulling a trailer.
We stopped in for lunch, and were greeted by the staff who welcomed us in, holding the door open as we entered. The atmosphere is fun and lively, with 50s music and decor throughout. My kids had burgers, fries, and "concrete" frozen custard - which are similar to blizzards. You pick what you want put into from chocolate, cookie dough bites, caramel, etc. The burgers were messy and tasty, and the concretes were smooth and delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. I'm glad to see something like this in Leeds. It's a nice variation from the usual fast food fare.
I cant believe the fatastic service we had at this waffle house. Lets face it' we are not talking fine dinning. We are talking however about diwn home cooking breakfest. Jennefer the server was training Alura. They were great. Very attentive to what we needed. The thing is they were slammed but kept up with everyone's needs. Great service great food. What else can you expect from a waffle house. Oh and who I believe was a mgr/ cook took time out to ask if everything wS to our liking. Loved it.

I ate lunch here earlier this week and went back for breakfast buffet today. Both times there were so many selections it was hard to decide what I was going to eat. The lunch buffet includes a good salad bar and dessert. Examples of food offered - fried chicken, fried fish w/ hushpuppies, hamburger steak w/ gravy, pasta/tomato casserole, meatloaf, butter beans, green beans, mashed potatoes, field peas, corn, yams, etc. The breakfast buffet had cheddar cheese biscuits and regular biscuits, gravy, grits, scrambled eggs (plain and with things added), link sausage, delicious crisp bacon, sausage patties, ham, pancakes, hashbrowns, etc. You can eat buffet or order off menu which is extensive and they even have a drive-through.
The Wing Cafe has a TON of sauce options for their wings and they have several other menu items: fish and shrimp baskets, chicken fingers, burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc. We got an order of "The Bay" wings and they were really good. I have never thought about using Old Bay on chicken wings, but it worked! I had the shrimp po-boy combo and my husband had the (tilapia) fish basket-we both enjoyed our meals and left full. The service was quick and friendly!

It is great to be able to stop for supper and know what to expect. Cracker Barrel delivers home cooked food at a fair price over and over. We were not disappointed once more. Pancakes with blackberries on top, doesn't get any better. Thanks

Rusty's Bar-B-Q is located at 7484 Parkway Drive in Leeds, Alabama on Highway 78 just two miles off I-20. We are just down the street from the Outlet Shops of Grand River, Bass Pro Shops, and Barber Motorsports Park. We are open 7 days a week from 9:30 AM
We have had take out from here before while visiting family nearby, this time we dined in with 4 children, 3 middle aged adults, 1 elderly family member. Food was delicious and service is very friendly. The cashier noticed that my grandmother requires assistance from us and offered to have her sandwich cut in half or quarters which was brilliant and made it so much easier for her to eat and I didnt have to struggle with cutting it at the table. Our large group enjoyed: pork sandwich, pulled chicken sandwich, pulled Turkey, cheeseburger, chicken tenders, mac n cheese, fries, banana pudding, chocolate pie, and ooey gooey cake and it was all delicious! I really like their house sauce and it's the flavors I grew up with; thin, tomato based with some tang.
