After finding that all the evenings were fully booked (Hint: make a reservation well in advance) I showed up early for lunch and got a room with a low, grill table and a sunken pit for my legs.Green salad, rice and the âthree pointâ (three kinds) special beef made up my lunch. The salad was huge and could have served three or four people. The meat was generous for one and could have done for two.The meat was very good, very tender, and with white salt, pink salt and four other sauces, never a boring bite. The restaurant was sold out of the special sirloin, too bad. They explained what the cuts were, but my Japanese is too bad to understand and after a couple of tries I gave up asking. There are wooden sticks inscribed with kanji for each cut in the pictures.They serve Ugo black Wagyu, which is local and grass- fed. Itâs one of many brands of Wagyu in Japan, there are so many itâs hard to keep track of them. Premium sirloin is my go- to for measuring the one yakiniku against the other, but as said, they were out of that cut. Itâs hard to fault any Japanese Kuroge Wagyu, so itâs all relative, right? This one is middle of the pack, IMHO. But there is more to a great dining experience than just the raw ingredients.The service and the presentation were impeccable. The ambiance was a nice mix of modern and traditional, very refined, and lots of space. When a restaurant âspends spaceâ in Japan, itâs making a serious statement. I would definitely bring a top customer , best friends or dine here for a special occasion.Warning: the map from the tourist centre shows the restaurant across the street! And there, a new building is going up,. So from the map, it looks like their building was torn down. The restaurant is actually at the very end of the covered walkway from the station, on the left, on 2F, above the convenience store!!!!
