Down to the rubber ducks floating in the rooftop outdoor public pool, this Dormy Inn was identical to others in which I have stayed, including the television in the sauna, the rubber ducks, the free bowl of soba at bedtime, the mediocre breakfast, the tiny room (there's barely space to leave your shoes by the door) with very small window and useless closet, the pajamas, hairdryer, available washing machine and clothes dryer. Convenient location, a step up from many business hotels, but certainly nothing luxurious.

A relaxed, functional hotel. A place where you feel completely at home. An ideal base for business or sightseeing in Akita. The Limousine bus stop from Akita airport in front of the hotel. The Akita Shinkansen is also in service. The main site of the Akita Kanto Festival, one of Akita's traditional seasonal spectacles, there is held in the street in front of our hotel. Daiwa Roynet hotel Akita would like to serve as your base in Akita, whether your trip is for sightseeing or business.
This is my last stop of the trip in Tohoku. The hotel is more than 10 minutes’ walk to the JR Station, but only a few minutes’ walk to Senshu Park and the Akita Art Gallery. There is not a single café near the hotel for breakfast, so you’d better have breakfast in the hotel or walk to the JR Station. The hotel is a typical Daiwa Roynet, so no surprise or disappointment. Everything in the room is neat and clean. I could not book a bigger room which is always sold out, so I just had a double room. The room was big enough for me to open two medium-sized suitcases. I had to pack everything in after a ten days’ trip to return to Tokyo. I had no problem to do so in this room.

Bare foot hotel, you have to take off your shoes at the entrance, so all the workers also. Clean, confortable bed, good size rooms considering the average sqm in Japan. If you dont speak Japanese, you get little out even in the reception, look for Suki she can speak english. Here is all like Japan thirty years ago, when japanese was the only option.

The Akita Castle Hotel was lovely, with one major exception. THE INTERNET IN THE HOTEL ROOMS IS TERRIBLE. If you don’t need to come here for business (and, thus, don’t need WiFi), then this is a great hotel. Very nice location. Good, clean rooms, friendly staff. Just don’t expect to use the internet during your visit. Free parking for hotel members.

Picked this hotel as it was close to the train station and seemed very good value. Turned out we picked a good choice, the rooms are very spacious by Japanese city standards and, while the decor and fittings are perhaps a little faded, the room was clean and tidy. If you're looking for a good value, centrally located hotel with a bit more space than the norm then would highly recommend.

The room is small but clean. It has slippers, razor, sponge, shampoo, and shower gel provided. It also has fridge, cups, and kettle in the room. Free WIFI, very strong :) The bed is comfy. The hotel lobby is quite spacious. I can't believe that the washroom on the ground floor is large and has all the gels, lotions available for use. The staff is very friendly. One can speak English well. We asked him what the famous food is in Akita and which restaurant we should go for. (We don't want to go to restaurants that are for tourists.) There are two convenient stores near the hotel. The location isn't close to JR station. It takes ~20 mins walk. As we rented a car near JR station, it wasn't a problem for us. I would recommend people to stay there

Hotel
I highly recommend this hotel because of its location right next to the Akita station. It is clear and beautiful. The price is reasonable for such a large and professionally-run hotel. Super value for anyone visiting Akita.

This hotel in general is a typical Toyoko Inn. The main difference is it's being part of the station building so a person need not go outside to arrive there. I didn't know that because their are no signs until you are almost ready to enter the hotel (in other words, so close to the hotel you don't need them) so left the station building and walked around in a snowstorm trying to find it. The typical Toyoko Inn sign high on the building faces the downtown across the tracks, not visible from the station nor from the street on the hotel's side of the station. There is no hotel entrance directly from the street, only through a building. Here is how to find the hotel: After leaving the trains, turn left and walk in the opposite direction of the downtown area. You will be several levels above the street. When that hallway ends and all you can do it turn right, just turn right and continue on the same level. Eventually you will go down one flight of stairs and see the hotel entrance ahead of you. The hotel is in the separate building connected to the station by a hallway. The entrance is several levels about the ground floor. There is NO outside entrance to the hotel.

I stayed here with my group of 17 people Very friendly and politely staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Challenging shared bathroom (It is Japanese traditional culture of Japan, everyone goes into a bath together nakedly), with hot spring, sauna, and fountain with enough water pressure to be able to massage tired body.) Breakfast was good For the upgrading of the facility, it is recommended to provide shuttle bus to take guests from hotel to Akita station back and forth
