Nice atmosphere, great view over the Mirabella bay, Greek traditional music. Dishes prepared of fresh, seasonal components. We especially recommend traditional Greek dishes like 'moussaka', 'souvlaki' etc. Nice and friendly staff. Maybe interior is not so impressive but food is enough good to recommend this tavern.

Looked very nice from the outside. The waiter /owner was very friendly. I must say it all looked very clean. We ordered our usual assortments of meze and a lamb dish recommended by the owner. I asked if I could have potatoes from the oven to go with the lamb, but was very disappointed to receive a plate of chips. If you haven't got something or can't do something just tell the customer that when they order !! The lamb was luke warm at best and tough. ( I just wrapped it up and took it for the cats living near our villa ) The meze dishes were average for Crete. I think most things are prepped earlier and then just microwaved when needed. The only noise coming from the kitchen was the pinging of the microwave. The owner / waiter spent most of the evening delivering food to customers in the village, or sitting with a family of people who appeared to eat there most nights.

I'm pretty sad to write this review... as I've been visiting here for many yrs. Food is always great but a big problem this year with accommodation.I booked for 18 nights with a right of free cancellation. So I cancelled it within the given time. Once I had been in the village for 5 days the full payment came out of my account which was a lot of money. This money came out easily..and should be replaced the same way. The money was withdrawn by Kavousanous not hotels.com which I first thought. I was told by hotels.com I'd get the refund in 24 hrs which is normal, which i did not!! It ruined the last week of my hoilday. I received a payment today, one full month later....and not even the full amount. Not sure I'd ever book with free cancellation again it's very misleading. I'm so so so disappointed All of Kavousanos family felt really sorry about this .the main problem started because of a technical issue of not sending and receiving mails .The thing is that hotel.com gave not correct informations since because of capital controls still remaining in Greek banks.Even though the money was staying in the bank wasn't possible to be tranfered without being demanded from your bank .We all really felt sorry about this and tryed every day to find , throu our bank ,a quicker way to solve this problem .kind regards Kavousanos team
