Unfortunately, nothing outstanding. Stella is very nice and pretty but the cousine is not so high. We ordered octopus on the grill, steak and chicken gyros. The octopus was rubber and burned on the grill. The chicken in the gyros is over-salted. The steak was on top. To the honor of the owners, it should be noted that the octopus was not included in the bill. Although at first they claimed that octopus was right. And they brought a large portion of fruit and cakes as a compliment.

We have been here on previous years, so a little disappointed this time. The young waiting staff were lovely, but we weren't allowed to be seated on the front tables as reserved for friends and family ...one table was free all night....the fish was fresh and tasty, but not the usual welcome you get in Crete...seemed like we had crashed someone elses party.

We have just come back from this amazing taverna. The dinner was delicious- from soup to a dessert. Also the home-made starter & raki with fruit (for free) were great.Everything was so fresh! Moreover the atmosphere was excellent-the owner/waiter was so sympathetic and the music was great,too!100% Recommended and we will definitely come backSo far the best one at the beach! :)

This is one of the best greek tavernas that I have ever been to - the food is fabulous, the staff are really nice and so welcoming, they made us feel very special on my husband's 60th birthday. We visited a half a dozen times during our visit to Seaside Resort & Spa and we even took another couple who we had met at the hotel with us because we were so impressed with the food. This place is definitely worth a visit and the special touches at the end of the meal are amazing - Σας ευχαριστώ σε όλους σας

Le Gourmet is a family tavern located in Agia Pelagia, Crete. Our tavern comes with a 25 years' tradition in production of tasteful dishes based on the Greek and Mediterranean cuisine!
In terms of a friendly welcome, efficiency, unobtrusive waitering, quality of food and value for money it doesn't really get any better than this in a seaside taverna. We ate here three times in a fortnight and all five of us (age range 10-68) found it excellent. It deserves many years of success.

Visited here with family on another night out, there were 8 us. We had a fantastic table overlooking the beach. Food and drinks arrived quickly. Food and service was great. As we were eating we had a view of a firework display which was lovely. Definitely worth a visit.

During our short week vacation in Agia Pelagia, we visited three/four times (both for lunch and dinner) this very nice restaurant, located right on the beach. The waiters there are very friendly and at the same time efficient. The food, fish oriented, has been always great. The sea view you have, while you are seated down there, is really nice and relaxing. The price can be considered medium/high, but the quality of the food and in general the "atmosphere" there make it bearable!
Definitely, when in the area, we will visit it again.

Our Mission is simple: to provide traditional Cretan food with exceptional consistency and service. Located in one of the most beautiful gulfs of Crete, Aghia Pelagia, our tavern has established itself as a destination for dining. Family owned and operated by a team of traditional Cretan food veterans, our tavern enjoys a loyal following of locals and travelers. From the best fish dishes you'll ever eat to the legendary traditionally grilled Cretan lamb "antikristo", we aim to exceed your expectations for tavern dining!
We found the taverna during a walk along the beach. We decided we would have dinner on our last night so went in and asked to book a table. We said 8pm, they said fine.
So when we turned up at 8.20 (my fault!) and they were waiting for us. We had a reserved table at the front of the restaurant overlooking the beach. The view was just beautiful.
The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. They had it just right. They were there but not in your face or lingering behind your chair.
We ordered drinks and starters then sat admiring the view while we waited. We noticed a few cats knocking around but no one seemed to mind. There are a LOT of cats on Crete. They were just lounging around, not a bother at all.
Our starters came out and just wow. I ordered saganaki (baked cheese with tomatoes & peppers). Quite possibly the nicest starter I've ever had. Quite possibly the most amount of melted cheese I've ever eaten..but it was delicious. We ordered a garlic bread too and there was loads!
For mains, my boyfriend had pork gyros (kebab on a plate) which was huge! The meat was gorgeous, fresh salad and fresh baked pitta. I ordered calamari and was surprised at the size of the portion. There was so much! There were a couple of small whole squid in there too and they were delicious.
Presentation was lovely and we didn't have to wait long at all.
We were so full from dinner that we didn't even attempt to look at the dessert menu, but when we asked for the bill, they brought over a plate with a piece of cake, some gorgeous strawberry ice cream, some watermelon and 2 shots of Raki..a little too strong for us, but a very nice touch. And it was free!
We couldn't believe how little the bill came to for the amount of food we had and the level of service, we would have paid double!
Anyway, we settled the bill and decided to leave a tip. My boyfriend took it over to the waiter and he was surprised. He said it was too much...it was €7. We didn't think it was too much at all.
We have talked about it since and concluded that it was probably the nicest meal out that we've had. It's not 5 star fine dining, but it's traditional, it's fresh and the setting just makes it that extra bit special.
We loved it, we would definitely recommend it and if we return to Crete (which I am sure we will!) we will be returning 100%.

Tried 4 different restaurants in this beautiful little resort and having spent many years in Greece you can sometimes find restaurants that dont quite meet your expectations , restaurants that let themselves down on cutting corners on quality . Well during my 7 nights in Crete we ate here 3 times and that pretty sums it up for me .
GREAT Greek food
GREAT care taken in serving quality food
GREAT value for money
And my one regret was not getting the owners name .
Made us feel so welcome , extremley friendly , that typical Greek hospitality where you are made to feel like family.
