On a February Saturday the place was buzzing, mainly with locals. Circumstances meant that after enjoying an early brunch we were able to return for cakes in the afternoon. Coffees excellent, everything was good. Staff were particularly pleasant and attentive. Moderate prices. We will be...MoreThanks so much for taking the time to review! Set in the family-run Fitzgerald's Woodlands House Hotel, Timmy Mac's is an informal and welcoming restaurant offering Irish dining at its most traditional. Cream and green tones add a vibrant touch to the rustic interior, where hearty home-cooked dishes are served next to the crackling open hearth fire. Visitors can choose from our extensive menu, which includes healthy eating options, while enjoying some good old fashioned hospitality. The cottage garden is perfect for laid-back summertime barbecues, with Seating in the thatched gazebo or outdoor dining area. Entertainment is courtesy of a buzzy crowd of musicians, storytellers and Irish dancers, as well as the popular thatched games area.
My family and I stayed at the beautiful Woodlands House Hotel for two nights. We dined both nights in Timmy Macs, simple reason being it was absolutely superb. The kids (5 & 3) were so well looked after, having their favourite meals cooked for them each night and colouring pencils / pages galore, they had a ball - which meant both my wife and I enjoyed the extensive menu! The food, setting, staff and atmosphere were of the very highest standard. We look forward to our next visit and would highly recommend this family owned hotel to anyone looking to enjoy good food and a friendly ambience.. Russell, Jacqueline, Robyn and Evie...

Aunty Lena's Bar situated in Adare Village arguably the prettiest village in Ireland was established in 1806 and has famously served the needs of its patrons with great success. Our highly skilled kitchen team serve delicious traditional Irish food all day and in tandem with that our bar stocks an extensive selection of beers, wines and the finest Irish whiskeys to help wash the meal down with. Our customers are a mix of local people and visiting tourists who we are more than happy to cater for with our own brand of superior customer service. Our large LCD High Definition TVs provide our customers with the perfect place to view all of the major sporting events (especially Munster, Limerick & Adare matches) live, in full comfort and with an atmosphere that you have to experience to believe. We also have live traditional music sessions every Friday night where audience participation is a must and people travel far and wide to experience this 'Lenas' Craic! We have also hosted some of the new and established live bands from around the region as we believe strongly in providing the best possible entertainment for our patrons, if they're happy then so are we!
I recently visit Aunty Lena’s in Adare as I always do, I'm frenqutly travel between London and Ireland and up until they had been in the middle of renovations, to my surprise it was opened during my trip back over Christmas. The food as always was up to its usual good standards. But as far as the nice friendly staff that i’ve always looked forward to having a chat to, them seem to have disappeared. My family who are from Adare had already noted these changes and as a result don't visit Aunty Lena’s as often as they used to. The waitresses don’t even pay attention to customers instead just want you in and out very quick, almost as if a customer was some sort of inconvenience. There was a female manager, not very friendly and I had to ask her on two occasions for the same thing and still didn't receive it. This pub & restaurant was always a family friendly venue, where the staff always had a smile and a few words, however its seem after years of good trade and loyal custom Aunty Lena’s are loosing their charm and ability to make customers feel appreciated.

Stopped in on New Years Eve on our way back from a day trip. It was still early, 7pm maybe, but the place was packed. They were able to seat us in a corner with a minimal wait. Despite the crowd, our service was pretty quick. I had to try the traditional Irish stew and was not disappointed, it was very good and filling! I think they were having live music that night but we didn't stay, we were so tired from our long day that we ate and went back to our hotel to get some sleep. The bar area was so crowded you could barely walk through, but everyone was having fun. Would love to go back sometime to catch some music!

We ordered the lamb chops, which were among the best we have ever had. The host told us they were sourced locally from the butcher across the street. Vegetables were perfectly prepared. The trifle for dessert was disappointing but I would go back there for a meal any time I was in Adare.

Fine dining at its best.
Adare Manor opened in October 2017 to much awaited anticipation and it did not disappoint. Luxury abounds at Adare Manor and so to its signature restaurant The Oak Room.
This magnificent Hall is adorned with fine art slightly observing the staff as the seeming float about their duties.
The restaurant offers a 3, 4 or 5 course tasting menu with varying prices, the 5 course in at €120. This gastronomical journey will take you through the counties of this fair isle brining you its finest fare from Goats Cheese to Quail to Goose served with beets and blackberry sauce all beautifully presented and each as delicious as the last.
Your sommelier will guide you through the extensive wine list which caters for all pocket depths.
Dinner at the Oak Room is fine dining at its best and a treat to behold and enjoy and though not for everyone I would highly recommend this experience for anyone considering it.
