I enjoyed my stay at AES Luxury Apartments. I was supposed to stay for just two days and then moved over to another hotel with my friends during the weekend for a friend's wedding, but I ended up convincing them to come over to AES and we all enjoyed our stay together. The staff are friendly and swift. Their BBQ fish was something we all enjoyed so much.

I came here for a weekend to attend an Economic summit and it was a great stay even though it was a tedious weekend. Peniel Apartments is a very neat and decent accommodation with well trained and well mannered staff. It has the comforts of a home as I stayed in the one bedroom apartment fitted with a parlour and a kitchen.

Got in from Owerri by 4.30pm and picked an Uber ride to the hotel. Once inside was shown a few rooms, and chose one to my taste. Place was very cool, with lots of beautiful scenery, would hve loved to stay longer but had to catch a flight very early next morning.

I stayed here last in 2019, and it was very good (7.5/10 in my opinion), but this time around (December 2021), I was quite underwhelmed. While the staff are topnotch - from Security to the Hotel staff - the Infrastructure is not up to par. The room I stayed in (302) needed painting, the door handles were bad, and worst of all, the showerhead was very bad. And only 3 watchable TV stations , ALL SPORTS CHANNELS!! WiFi was very flaky. It was a big letdown for me, honestly. For that sort of money, you can easily get better accomodation in the Garki area. It's not bad but could be far better if the owners put in some effort. I rate it 6/10: if you need large rooms and a microwave oven and iron, then this is the place for you. Just don't expect much more.

I stayed here earlier this year they put me in a room 201 and the a/c was leaking the woman came and said sorry and also did my clothes was wet, I said no. But that’s not the point my suitcase was wet and I don’t expect to be in a room that has water pouring all over the place. They moved me to another room and apologised. I took it like that. Now I stayed this month, they put me in room 201 again, firstly the breakfast people told me that the extra plate for another person is 2000 naira, I wanted to cook and I asked the kitchen to let me use their blender and she told me that the extra cost to blend is 1000 naira!!! I said how is they possible when this is suppose to be an apartment, why would you charge extra? When I was removing my suitcase from the suitcase area in the room I saw water coming out of the a/c again! At the point of checking out, the “manager” gave me the bill which included the extra plate at 4000naira which I was not aware of, I questioned this and the woman at the desk started explain that since 5 years an extra plate of breakfast is 4000. She was actually very rude. I then said what about the a/c pouring water in the room, to which she said all she can do is apologise. I’ve never stayed in a hotel with such bad customer service. I then asked how to complain to which she said that I should contact the reservation team I said who do I send my complaint to and the the real “manager” stepped forward and said I should complain to him. He said he was the operation manager. He said the problem with the a/c was not their fault and they I should have told them as soon as it happened. I didn’t notice it until I went to check out so there was no way for me to see anything. I expect much more from a hotel and not this terrible service. The “managers” do not know how to be a manager no customer service skills. The waiters, security men are more accommodating and politer than the managers. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

It was great to have such great reception, for our first time in Abuja. The staff were amazing and very engaged. The food was good though spicy but the chefs were able to help us with non-hot spiced options. The rooms were clean and user-friendly

While the physical plant of this hotel is good, management policies negate the implied contact that “our customers are king”. First, the good: rooms are spacious and clean. Staff are conscientious and try to please. A great effort is obvious to assure security in an unsafe world. The negative: we registered as a couple but were provided the continental breakfast for only one person; requests for more than one towel and one coffee service in our room were ignored; only four coat hangers were allowed in the closet. Hotel staff threatened to remove the “excess” until my wife refused. While these issues are not earth shattering, they reflect how management policy and customer needs conflict. This type of conflict has no place in a “sheer luxurious” hotel.
