Exactly what you are expecting from a little hotel in the middle of the mountains, just wonderful. Staff is top notch, Massimo and Olga were super hosts, very welcoming and helpful with suggestions or advising for general stuff. The room was very nice, proper mountain room forniture and a beautiful view from the balcony over the lake of Barrea. Morning breakfast was definitely nice with fresh products, maybe just not soo complete as it is only pure carbs. Espresso is high level. Thank you guys! See you soon!

Pino opens his hotel and restaurant to people from all over and welcomes them as is own family. The accomodations are renovated, very clean in a very serene, peaceful, secure place nested by the mountains and Parco Nazionale D’Abruzzo. Pino is always available and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and helpful. We were there only for one night in July while visiting our relatives and didn’t get a chance to eat at his restaurant. Being a passionate cook,I did get a private tour of his kitchen. Pino’s kitchen is stocked with only superior produce, fish, meats, olive oil and equipment to satisfy each customer with an authentic natural home cooked meal with every attention to detail and presentation. Grazie di tutto cuore Santa e famiglia

In Magliano de' Marsi, nestled in the unspoilt Abruzzo countryside, on a green reserve where guests can admire deer, wild boar and foxes in their natural habitat, the agriturismo is a peaceful oasis, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the activities on offer on the educational farm. As well as growing potatoes, wheat, spelt, maize and legumes, the farm also rears sheep, hens, rabbits and bees, which produce an excellent honey. All of the farm's produce is grown and reared by hand, and can be enjoyed in the small restaurant.
I have been there with the family, the place is very quiet in the middle of nowhere but not far from the highway, so it can be reached very easy. The food in not the best, just to give some example: they make the bread by themselves (this is what the waiter said) the problem in that the bread is spiced (in my case it has been made with olive) so if you don't like olive you must eat without bread... it is not the best, anyhow the meat was also to fat.

'where the wind blows stronger and the climb gets harder .... At 1272 meters above sea level, after a long period of restoration, the Hermitage was returned to the faithful who will conduct a hearing pilgrimage to July 2 to September 12, with a higher turnout in the Sunday following the 15th of August, the feast of S. Falcon. When Pietro Angeleri came in 1235 at Palena was a little over twenty years. Left his place of birth, Sant 'Angelo Limosano, was directed towards Roma but his journey was interrupted by a terrible blizzard that forced him to pass the' winter in a mountain hut at Scone. In spring desisted from his purpose of going to Rome and headed for the Majella, at the foot of Mount Palleno. Here Peter - Pope Celestine V - "reached the Majella, stops in a cave and began life as a hermit real. Early signs of temptation and the first signs of heaven.'s Afraid of the dark and the company of Angels. People notice the extraordinary nature of that presence and starts to search for Brother Peter ... It was precisely those of Palena and the district to beg and convince him to become a priest. "So wrote Father Quirino Solomon in "Celestino people" on p. 5 Back from Palena in 1238. Some stories make certain the construction of the complex by Celestine around the fourteenth century to hand down to posterity the memory of the first residence hermit of their founder. L 'hermitage remained in their possession until the dissolution of the order, which took place in 1807, following the Napoleonic edict which provided for the reorganization of the orders hermit. The goods were endorsed by Ferdinand II, King of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, which is claimed to have donated the hermitage to the noble family Perticone, who made it his summer residence. On many occasions the barons allowed the pilgrims spend the night, especially on the feast of Our Lady, when companies from neighboring areas flocked July 2 to praise Madonna singing "Maria ... Maria hooray hooray! The deep silence of the forest will repeat forever the 'eco'. In 1970 the sanctuary was an act high and noble donated to the town of Palena so that its historical values and mysticism could be from now on and forever heritage. The only condition is made by the town of Palena sign was that the purpose and the spirit of the age-old sanctuary, a place of worship for all believers, it was always preserved. As a pledge and commitment to the donation from 'high historical and cultural content, the Mayor did Cifani explanatory plaque, which is all' now can see on one of the exterior facades of 'hermitage. Emerged unscathed from the two world wars and the 'Nazi-Fascist occupation, in 1984, was badly hit by an earthquake that caused the collapse of the roof. Thanks to national funds set aside for restructuring the hermitage is back to shine. The property is now managed by the Consortium of Celestinian and is open to the public for guided tours and overnight stays. The housing complex houses inside 30 beds, including single, double and quadruple rooms, a dining room and a kitchen with modern equipment. E 'possible to stay within the facility throughout the year with at least a 48 hour notice. It also offers the possibility to use the kitchen.

The location was amazing but the staff was unorganised, rude and unclear in explaining what they charge you for. It was 7 of us and we ordered 4 set menus for dinner. We clearly specified we were going to share the meals and after double checking the different options the staff accepted this request. Although the next day they fully charged us for 7 menus - food we have never ate. Also, it was of poor quality and I strongly advise against going if you are vegetarian. Despite calling in advance the set menu had not been changed and we were charged for the full price when eating only a soup and not the main course.

Very Good.
