Colorado is home to no less than twenty-six ski resorts such as those in Vail and Breckenridge; other winter activities include snowboarding, sledding, sleigh rides, snow hiking and snowmobiling. The state is blessed with national parks, grasslands and forests where in warmer weather you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing. Wildlife abounds, from bears to moose and raccoons to wolverines. More interested in local history? Head for either the Ute Indian Museum or the Koshare Indian Museum, and don't miss the forts such as Fort Garland and Bent's Old Fort. For a complete change, why not take a ride in a hot air balloon from South Park Valley or Boulder and admire Colorado's picturesque landscape from above?

My Nature Lab, is a hands-on space where you can explore the natural world around us. The Lab has reptiles, from local to exotic, where you will be taught by a professional biologist about their nature, habitat, and life. You will have opportunity to see the animals up close, ask an expert, and even hold some in your hands. Our focus is conservation through education and we invite you to join us.
With Adult children in tow, we visited My Nature Lab on aFriday when they feed their reptiles about every 15 minutes. I wished that I had my grandkids here as well! The visit was fabulous and Cameron Young and his assistant are extremely knowledgeable about snakes, frogs,Turtles, lizards and any other kind of reptile. Their passion and enthusiasm for these remarkable creatures make the visit even more worthwhile. We had a great time and only wished we lived closer for repeat visits. A must for anyone who may have unjust fears about snakes or just curious. We garnered a new appreciation.

And every day, we’re working to save animals and conserve wildlife here and around the world. Your visit and support aids in all these efforts- Thank you. Home to 4,100 animals, representing more than 600 species, Denver Zoo is committed to species conservation by bringing science education to life and providing extraordinary experiences that foster human and animal connections. It is the most visited cultural destination in Colorado, serving 2 million people per year. Located in Denver’s City Park, the Zoo is a nonprofit organization accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), which assures the highest standards of animal care. With the mission to secure a better world for animals through human understanding, Denver Zoo dedicates more than $2 million annually to zoo-led programs aimed at protecting animals within their natural habitats around the world.
This review is mainly for the Holiday Zoo lights as this was my first and only time visiting the Denver Zoo. There are so many beautiful, creative light displays covering the entire zoo. There are also a limited amount of animals on display; I especially enjoyed the giraffes. The grounds were easy to walk and the layout was a loop that ensured that you didn't miss anything. There are a few bathrooms and concession strands throughout the zoo, so you don't have to back track or run around looking for one. The concession tents offered hot chocolate and cider(with the option to spike with holiday spirits), pretzels, churros funnel cake and a few adult beverages(including Rosé in a can). This event sells out quickly every night and the parking lot is usually full, so I recommend taking Uber or Lyft. It's a fun time for all ages and I highly recommended to everyone.... just make sure you bundle up!

Colorado Springs is home to America’s mountain zoo. Located at 6,714 feet above sea level, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers breathtaking views of the city and of its 750 animals. The unique design of the Zoo’s animal exhibits gets guests closer than ever before. Hand-feed one of the largest reticulated giraffe herds in the world, watch grizzlies swim with trout, hop next to red-necked wallabies and get hands on with some of the Zoo’s smaller residents in The Loft. Have a WILD adventure at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo – see the animals, ride an antique carousel, eat a gourmet lunch at the Grizzly Grill and ride the Mountaineer Sky Ride to the Zoo’s summit. Visit 365 days a year for family fun at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
Went there after the hail storm and you can still see the damage. Loved the ski lift ride that takes you over the zoo and you get beautiful views of the city. Feeding g the giraffes was a treat and the elephant show was fun. Highly recommend it!

Visited the Wild Animal Sanctuary for the second time on Sunday with my sister, nephew, and his girlfriend. After you pay admission, there is a short video to watch describing how the sanctuary helps the animals it rescues, what to expect on the walkway, what to do and not to do. We got to the sanctuary around 2:30pm, and had a few hours to explore. October is a good time to go- fewer crowds and much more comfortable temperatures. There were volunteers all along the walkway to answer any questions we had- all of the volunteers we interacted with were friendly, helpful and informative. We saw many bears getting ready for hibernation, and the lions were roaring. We saw several of the arctic wolves and tigers as well, and way off in the distance- camels and yaks. If you can stay closer to closing, you will get to see the animals at their most active. Make sure to bring binoculars, as the sanctuary is huge, and many of the animals are out enjoying all of their space- sometimes this is the only way to see them. It is a wonderful experience, I encourage everyone to visit the Sanctuary at least once!

This was such a great experience. My favorite part was feeding the lorikeets nectar. The sugar gliders were also a lot of fun to watch and interact with. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

This new innovative aquarium offers self-guided tours through two separate ecosystems, the Colorado River and the Indonesian River.
The Aquarium has all the usual wonderful displays plus a few surprises, like the tigers and parrots in the jungle area and the awesome flash flood in the desert area. Feeding the stingrays, talking to the mermaids, and watching the 4D movie are a must. 4 adults and 1 child cost us around $125 for an adternoon's fun.

The Pueblo Zoo is an Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) accredited facility covering 25 acres of shaded, flat landscapes in Pueblo City Park. It is home to more than 500 animals representing 125 different species from around the world.
We had seen the Electric Critters show held during the Christmas holiday a few years ago. My grandchildren enjoyed it then. We took them again this year. It had many more critters and activities for the children. We, adults enjoyed it. The children got a kick out of watching the Mircats showing off! An activity worth taking families to enjoy the Christmas Season. Thank You Pueblo Zoo for giving Pueblo a wonderful display and activities.
