One of the oldest zoos in Europe, established in 1866, features the hippopotamus, bred in captivity, and an animal nursery of lion and bear cubs.
First of all, there is polar bear romance which makes the trip!! Secondly, you get to actually walk around freely with some of the animals such as the emus, bat's, eagles and iguanas! So much better than some of the other zoos I have been to. We went in winter so it wasn't busy at all, not queuing to see anything. Only tip is to get there early it starts to close at 330.

Marvel at free-flying tropical birds, swinging monkeys, slithering alligators and colorful tropical fish in eight exhibition halls where nature comes alive.
A great indoor activity in winter and a great break from the overdose of history one can quickly get in Budapest. This is not just a place for kids and families. We took two young adults with us and spent over 45 minutes just in the walk through tank area. They loved the variety of wildlife and aqua life! And they loved taking photos here as this is a great place for taking amazing photos of and WITH sea creatures! Most all creatures are labeled with both Hungarian and English names, but only about half of the other information is translated from Hungarian. AND the aquarium is in the Campona Mall with shopping, a food court, a play place for kids, and a Lego type exhibit. A good place for everyone in the family to find enjoyment.

Bears, lions and many wild animals what you can see in the park. Park fee seems nothing what they can give during the tour. Many cute bears, secured lions, wolfs, etc. best place if you want to see wild animals in hand view.

While only small, it was a pleasure to walk around as there is no entry fee. There are 4 Welsh pony's that are more than happy to be stroked. And you can have a short ride on one for only 500 Huf. Hundreds of ducks, birds and chickens. Plenty of Deer, that have plenty of grazing room. There are Storks gathered around a giant tree stump with Rabbits usually fast asleep at the base. There is also a conservation are for numerous Buzzards and Eagles that if out in the wild, would not survive. The vets here managed to save their lives and they now live here safe. Unfortunately, the area doesn't recieve any funding from the government and so they have a board just outside the eagle part showing details of how you can help by donating. Rather heart warming to see how well looked after all the animals seem to be, and also to see so many beautiful birds being protected for the rest of their lives.
