The Blue Mountains are named for the delicate azure haze that lingers along the region, which is actually a fine cloud of oil emitted by eucalyptus trees. The mystical mountains are a labyrinth of plateaus, gorges and gum trees. Check out the Katoomba Scenic Railway (the steepest railway in the world), the Jenolan Caves and the Giant Staircase nature walk.

A previous reviewer said it was relatively easy ... I’d say it does require a moderate fitness level as you need to cross the creek on fallen logs and clamber up some steep inclines. Nonetheless the effort is worth it. It’s a beautiful little water fall in a perfect setting in a fern filled sandstone gorge. We were enchanted! Just make sure you wear footwear that can get wet and has something grip.

This place is full of beauty and amazing views, there are different walks to explore these points, you can try 30mins to 4hours walk. Park your car near Picnic area or get there by bus and walk through Jasmine lookout and walking track towards Wentworth fall, you may see small cascades depending on weather. Best time to visit is light rain, do not try this place in heavy rains. If you are trying more than 30mins walk have some food and water with you for quick energy. Keep watching sign boards to follow direction.

Great short walk in the blue mountains. The track leads to a swimming hole underneath the falls. Car park is small and there are no toilets or water fountians so bring plenty.

Even with the drought, it was fairly lush down in the valley and recent rains meant some water was going over the waterfalls. The waterfall hollows were pleasant cool spots anyway. The track's easy except for some rough stairs and a couple of unmarked turns. I was in a rush and did a whole circuit from the station including all the side paths to the falls in maybe 1:10. Best to take longer than that.

Short walk from car park (complete with ice-cream van!). Beautiful cascades and pool. Try to go early (or mate) - missing out on ice cream will be worth it just to miss the crowds. Also good stopping off point on Scenic to Echo Point walk.

We were lucky to visit just after all the rain we had so there was water over the falls. We visited both in the day and night which I highly recommend to do both. Stunning views across the valley. Easy walk around from the kiosk to the cascades and around the different lookouts along the way
