The name ‘Maji’ was chosen because it means ‘water’ in Swahili, Africa’s most precious resource, and reflects the stunning ocean view that the guesthouse has to offer. Overlooking the Serengeti Plains 20 years ago, I had a dream of owning a small hotel in Africa. After managing hotels in Kenya, Arusha & Zanzibar, Tanzania and travelling throughout the African continent from Addis Ababa to Zimbabwe, Ghana, Togo & Morocco in between, I have finally fulfilled that dream in Swakopmund, Namibia. The journey took me from the Indian Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean, because I always longed for the sea. That is why I fell in love with Villa Maji’s location which offers stunning ocean views and hopefully… a little magic. Villa Maji's vision is to share our passion for Africa and exotic adventures throughout the continent with our guests.
My wife and I have used Villa Maji as our wedding venue. We loved every single bit of it. From the ceremony on the beach, the reception inside to the honeymoon suite. The staff was very friendly and communicative. Would recommend for functions and stay again in the future. The rooms look great and spacious with nice views over the ocean. Sublime!

Cradled amongst Camelthorn trees with vistas of undulating Kalahari landscape crusted in golden grass, Otjimbondona offers those seeking tranquillity, exclusivity and luxury the ideal African retreat. Otjimbondona is situated 120km south east of Windhoek, and 80km from Hosea Kutako International Airport, on a 3000 hectare Private Nature Reserve on the fringes of the Kalahari. This boutique lodge with four delicately decorated Villas is the perfect place to start or end your Namibian adventure, or it provides a haven for those who simply wish to relax and unwind.
This hotel is beyond amazing, Ive never seen a clear night sky with Milky Way like this in my life, and the sunset is beautiful, I felt like I was on other planet, the food is unbelievably delicious! Rooms are huge, Anita and the staff were very friendly and kind, you don’t have to go far or travel to other area in Namibia to feel the Namibian experience, we saw different kind of animals in the game drive like rhino! But my favourite is sitting near Meerkats and observing their behaviour they are so funny. this hotel is just 1 hour 30 minutes from Windhoek international airport, I will definitely come back again

Oh Mushara Villa...where to start ... We are just back from a 7 night stay at this beautiful little hidden gem , set deep in the African bush - and we loved it so much, we’ve booked another 10 night stay this month. There are two luxury villas on the property- we stayed at villa 17. It was absolutely perfect, big, clean, comfortable - and the African interiors blew us away!! So tastefully decorated, you will literally want to take everything inside the villa home with you. Huge mosquito net over the bed to keep you safe at night. Fully stocked mini bar, freshly baked cookies, coffee press, coffee machine ...an abundance of assorted teas ....oh the list is endless. The two villas have their own private plunge pool, decking area, outside showers - and waterhole where you will see the wildlife drink throughout the day. The staff - so friendly and helpful, they genuinely want to serve you and make sure you have the time of your life. Special shoutout to Cecelia - who met us off every game drive with a big smile on her face and an ice cold gin and tonic. Food - amazing , 5* . We chose the all inclusive option, So all our meals, alcohol etc was included - it’s so much easier - and it meant we did not spend a penny at all when we were there. I highly recommend this option. Game drives - ahh Etosha is the gift that keeps on giving. Game everywhere, you will see everything! I have to write, my husband and I have travelled extensively across Africa - we have done luxury safaris in Kenya - the Masai Mara, all over the Serengeti and the rest of big parks in Tanzania, S/Africa, Zimbabwe etc etc - Etosha is up there with the best of them. It is absolutely beautiful. We paid extra to have our own private vehicle and guide - something I highly recommend to anyone doing safari , this way you get to do what you want to do and see what you want to see, when you want to see it, without worrying about other tourists schedules. Our day would start at 7,( taking a bush breakfast with us - prepared by the hotel staff ) ..leaving so early to catch the big cats in action before it gets too hot , then back to the lodge around 11 to hang out at the pool and eat lunch, then back out on the Savannah at 3 until 7. Our evening game drive we would pull up at one of the busy waterholes and sit drinking gin and tonics made for us by our guide Petrus - (who’s been in the game for 15 years - and was a book of knowledge- what he doesn’t know about Africa and it’s wildlife isn’t worth knowing-) whilst watching the comings and goings of the animals in the area. Our game drive ended watching the most spectacular sunsets we have ever seen! Watch out for the Milky Way too - very visible at night ! Little tip - the lodge also has its own landing strip for fly in guests . We chartered a light aircraft and flew directly there- we were met off the plane by our amazing guide - and stepped off the plane straight into our safari jeep. Absolute luxury. And a way to avoid airports and other tourists. So , in a nutshell, 5 * from me. Loved every minute of our stay. Thanks to everyone at Mushara for a truly wonderful time. And see you all soon :)

The lodge is located in the famous Skeleton Coast Central Concession between the Hoarusib and Hoanib Rivers in the Skeleton Coast Park, only 45 km north of Mowe Bay. The lodge is situated on the southern bank of the Huarusib River Mouth, nestled between the dunes with a view of the Atlantic Ocean where the cold Benguela current pushes a refreshing breeze over the shipwreck shaped cabins. Self-Drive Clients Clients will enter the Skeleton Coast National Park and will be driving along a gravel road towards Möwe Bay. This is where the client’s pick-up will take please. Please note: The roads are gravel roads and are subject to the weather and wind that might affect the road conditions. Therefore, self-drive clients are advised to drive a high clearance and 4x4 vehicle, especially between Terrace Bay and Möwe Bay. The last cellphone signal for communication and petrol station will be in Terrace Bay.
Spent 2 nights for our 26th wedding anniversary. Couldn’t have asked for a more special or unique place to celebrate. The staff make this lodge extra special. Nothing is too much trouble. Requested dune quad biking and a beach lunch and everything was organised to perfection. Food is excellent quality and if you think how far everything has to be trucked in you really appreciate what is plated up at every meal. The wooden cabins are cosy and the bedding warm and snug. Be prepared for cooler temperatures as the mist rolls in and out during the day. It is a very remote location and takes some planning to get to but absolutely worth it. We flew in to Mowe Bay and the lodge organised the transfers. Possibly only two negatives however not huge in the grand scheme: WiFi only available in the main lodge area - nothing in the cabins. And due to solar heating hot water only available later in the day. Definitely recommend this unique lodge.

Selfcateringbungalow for 6-8 Persons with Veranda, Garden and Grillplace, 3 km outside Usakos (D1914) Daytrips to Spitzkoppe, to the Erongomountains, Swakopmund
We stayed in the larger of the two properties, which was very nice. As the properties are very close together if one is booked they do not let out the other, unless it is all booked by a group. This makes it a very exclusive experience. The owner Brigitte is very friendly and helpful and goes some great work caring for the various animals that live there. Great place.

Greenhill chalets in Grootfontein- the rooms are very basic and small. Some of the toilets need a bit of a higher grade cleaning for stains and a few toilet seats require replacement. Having said that our hosts were most gracious and went out of their way to make us comfortable. They allowed us use of the back braai area where we set up our gazebo and prepared our food. As many of us are vegetarian the owner, Bassie went into town and got soya products for us. We really appreciated the effort made!
