I engaged Julie from Australian Elements Tours and Charters to assist me in organising a Brewery tour (similar to a wine tour) in the McLaren Vale region. Julie worked with me to customise a tour for a small group. Julie went above and beyond to incorporate all my requests even facilitating a last-minute change. Which ultimately created an enjoyable and successful day. I was able to customise what was included as often brewery tours do not cover the costs of tasting. Julie was able to provide a package which including tastings. If you are looking for custom tour, outside of what is offered on the website, don’t hesitate in asking Julie, she will go above and beyond to create a custom experience just for you.

Our wine tasting day trip was a highlight of our short break in Adelaide. We had chosen the Taste the Barossa tour as “not too big, not too small” and we were very happy when we saw the squashy small vehicles from other companies pick up their clients from outside our hotel. The bus was comfortable and you didn’t have to sit next to strangers, group size was small enough to chat with people, big enough to just do your own thing when you wanted. JR was incredibly entertaining and a font of knowledge, as first timers to Adelaide we learnt a lot. We really enjoyed his commentary throughout the day and lunch was delicious. Really, I couldn’t come up with a single negative, book this tour.

This tour operator is a joke!! Booked a limo tour... it was a van that tuned up...their rationale, it’s registered as limo... their website says the wine tastings are included in cost... We had to pay for every wine tasting... I requested at least a reimbursement on the tastings and was told that not in 15 year had they ever had such a request. I suspect that in their 15 years of operating they’re used to ripping off international tourist and don’t actually deal with Adelaide locals. My partner and I are Travel agents and neither of us have ever dealt with such a stubborn operator who wouldn’t recognise where they did wrong. Woe to the next person who deals with these people.
Wine has been a way of life in Barossa since 1842. Fast forward to today, and the Barossa is home to more than 550 grape-growing families, many with the sixth generation still working the same plot of land. Hear their stories. Taste their wines.

This tour was a surprise 60th birthday trip for my Mother-In-Law, who is a huge fan of the Jurlique products and it didn’t disappoint. The farm was beautiful and the tour was very interesting and informative, even for those of us who were just along for the ride. Kelly was an amazing host, very friendly and easy to get along with and so flexible and accommodating. I changed things on her twice, including the date of the tour and where we wanted to go for lunch the night before and nothing was ever too hard for her. Lunch at Patch Kitchen and Garden in Stirling was delicious. Our facial at the Jurlique Spa was so relaxing (my Mother-In-Law was snoring by the end of it). We loved our Jurlique Tea and Haighes Choccies. And to top the day off we polished off a couple of bottles of local champagne (from Bird In Hand Winery) in Kelly’s wonderful Entertainer Van on the way home, whilst we sang away to music videos! Safe to say we rolled on home! ???? We hope to join Kelly on another one of her tours in the future! :)
