Find our interior plant shop in this small Le Berger street. It would seem at first sight as an ordinary plant shop. Yet it couldn’t be a less ordinary place. It is where you will find our gardener and keeper of keys. The back door of the shop leads you to a secret garden and, within it, to our rooms which all have a view on the garden.
We had high expectations when going to "Jardin Secret", as they advertised themselves as a quiet secret heaven in the city. It turned out that reality is not as strong as their marketing... - First, the hotel is not really "secret". The reception desk is the one of the hotel "Le Berger", from which Jardin Secret is just an extension. You have a very classic hotel experience (and they have 30-ish rooms, so don't expect a "small boutique hotel"). - Rooms are very clean, but quite small and sober. The Instagram-like pictures on website and social media have a better rendering than reality. - And the worst: the rooms are super noisy. We had the worst room in the hotel (004, if you get it, just demand to change), just next to the entrance and elevator. We had to deal with groups of drunk people making noise in the hallway all night long. We really had a bad sleep because of that and it tainted our experience. I usually don't put 2/5 to a hotel for such issues, but what decided me to do so is that I had planned to tell about our bad experience at the reception desk at check-out. Unfortunately, the lady didn't even ask me how was our stay and my check-out was expedited in 5 seconds.

Serdot at the reception/breakfast room was a wonderful person. He was kind with our children. We loved the very extensive choice at the buffet breakfast with extended hours, local gourmet chocolates, quality cereals, tasty cheese and warm dishes like eggs, mushrooms, potatoes... The family room is very pratical, lots of space, and the kids liked the Qbic modern bunk beds. The concept of easy and friendly check in with a nice coffee/tea service available at all time is really nice.

The room was filhy. There were hair everywhere, on the bathroom walls, in the sink, toilet and toilet cover and in the shower; on the bedsheets and mattress, on chairs. Literally everywhere, and not just one or two in every place, but a bunch, as if the room had never been cleaned properly (there were also a thick layer of dust on EVERYTHING and the room smelled bad) or cleaned with dirty rugs. Furniture, walls and appliances were overall shabby, with live wires exposed in some plugs and lots of spots on the walls covered with mold. We asked the manager about a solution, for which he proposed a room swap for the night while the other room was being cleaned. We agreed to this only to find out that the other room was in the same conditions. When we confronted him again he changed his attitude and didn't cooperate as before. We tried to propose different solutions which were all declined. In the end we had to find another hotel and left the room(s) without any refund, not even partial as we even proposed to pay for the day of the check in. He became rude and laughed at our backs while we left the hotel. Given the current situation the hotel stated that it's taking extra measures to make the rooms clean and safe for the guests, as can be read on a little pop-up while booking the rooms on booking.com. For this hotel this has been shown to be a LIE. Maybe next time they should clean the rooms first, before "sanitizing" them!

Friendly aparthotel with family and friends close to shopping malls and town center and main train station in Brussels
We stayed in a studio on the fifth floor for two nights. I don't like to leave a "bad" review however would like to provide honest comments for future guests and for improvements. Positive: The room was large and newly cleaned, with a comfortable bed. There was a small kitchenette with a kettle, fridge and some basic utensils. When the hot water worked, it reached a good temperature. You can walk to some really nice restaurants/bars/cafes nearby (about 20-30 minutes to the centre). There's an ALDI just around the corner for groceries etc... Negative: Our check in was at 2pm however the room wasn't cleaned when we arrived, so we waited half an hour to get into the room. The elevator only goes up to level four, so the stairs need to be used for the rest of the way. The bathroom door didn't close and the hot water didn't work for the first two days. The room smelt of smoke. We opened the window for air, however the door then rattled while the window was open. Noise isolation isn't great. The guests above us made A LOT of noise about 4am and you could hear everything (although this isn't the fault of the hosts). Overall, the facilities were quite average and I don't believe it was worth the money paid (given the quality). The hosts, however, were welcoming and accommodating. They offered a couple of alternatives after we voiced our concerns. While neither alternative worked for us due to our plans, their fast response time and offers were much appreciated.

I stayed in Madrid, Lisbon and Berlin and loved each one of them, each room had its own character and was very clean and comfortable, everything you expect from a bnb is available and the location is very convenient and close to the tram and bus and everything you need is only minutes walk away from your stay.

This place is a catastrophy. We learnt the morning of our arrival that check-in was at 4 pm ! Around 1 pm we called and asked them if by any chance one of the 2 rooms we had booked was already available. They said yes. Then around 2 pm, as we were walking towards the place we called again to ask if the second room was ready. To our surprise, the lady on the phone told us that none of the rooms would be ready before 4 pm ! Being with 2 small and tired children, we decided to take another hotel where rooms were available. The Good House asks you to check-in at 4 pm and check-out at 10 am. They don’t have enough cleaning staff, they miscommunicate, they contradict themselves and in the end they don’t care of their customers. Avoid it !
