What a great weekend, we will be back. 18 hole course was in excellent nick for the amount of dry weather we have had, the meals and breakfast where extremely impressive with the quality and quantity, accommodation was very clean with plenty of space, staff very accommodating, attentive and fun. The par 3 course was also well kept that was a brilliant time filler with our two club challenge, pro shop was very well stocked, but just didn’t get time to use the 10 pin bowling, pool and the gym (as if that was going to happen). See you soon.

Rude landlord with appalling attitude. Earlier in the day I checked with a lovely member of staff who confirmed that food was being served that evening (Monday) When returning in the evening I was told as we were not bed & breakfast customers we could not order food. They lost our drinks order (already poured) and we left. Thank you to the kind locals who told us where we could go for some excellent food and service The Three Jolly Butchers

The rooms are basic and the staff are friendly. However, it is very noisy with paper thin walls and very noisy tenants/residents who play loud music late at night and keep slamming doors all throught night. This makes it very uncomfortable place to stay at.

Take an en suite king size room in our delightful pub and restaurant idyllically situated on the banks of the river, just north of Ely in Littleport. Our rooms are open from late July. All on the ground floor and accessible, with modern fittings and an individual balcony overlooking our moorings and the river Great Ouse.
Nice view from the room, comfortable bed and a cosy room. The shower was too hot and I couldn’t manage to turn the cold water on, there was a lot of dust as well in the bedroom and bathroom. We had breakfast which was great. The staff were nice. Mixed feelings about our stay as it just wasn’t clean enough for us.

The Castle is located on the doorstep of Ely's historic town centre, just a few minutes walk. With 15 comfortable bedrooms, spread across three floors and a full English breakfast for guests to enjoy in the morning, what more could you want!
Very good value for money. Everybody we met was so friendly and helpful when we needed them. The room was clean and tidy, breakfast was lovely and service was always with a smile. Hotel is in a prime location walking distance from the town centre.

I spent a week there and the staff were exceptional. They treated you like family. The room was very clean and its location quiet. I attended a Tudor Festival in Peterborough and got a lot of support from staff. A great stay in a wonderful city.

My wife and I tried a take-away Sunday lunch from the Chequers this week. It was easy to organise online and roughly 30 minutes before the collection we received a text reminder. At the allotted time I reported to the side door of the pub and collected a parcel of food. All neatly wrapped in 3 tin foil boxes. The food was rushed home, but I need not have worried for it was remained hot. We had ordered for me, the roast beef, and my wife and her sister, the haloumi vegetable roast. The accompaniments of a herbal Yorkshire pudding, 5 vegetables and a pot of gravy gave the meals that real traditional Sunday Roast feel. All in all, the meals were delicious, and each portion was more than enough for one. Well done the Chequers – we’ll order again!

The room is clean and is in a good are, these are the only reason I give it 2 stars. The room is large and it feels empty. For a double room I’d expect it to be adequately furnished. There was only one bed side table. I’d expect 2 for a double room and a desk as well. On entering I had to question if I was visiting a sauna or a bedroom. The heat was phenomenal. I opened the windows and still it was overwhelmingly humid. We were on the top floor so I’d expect it to be warm, but i’d also expect there to be a fan in the room. There was nothing to help with the heat and it’s not like I travel with a fan or wanted to buy one for a weekend visit. I would have wanted air con but would have settled for a fan. The toilet was next door to our room and this was just unbearably hot. I think if I’d have used the shower I’d have collapsed with heat exhaustion, it was that bad. There is a kettle in the room, though to make a drink you have to place the kettle on the floor because the lead didn’t reach the cubby hole, where the kettle was. This is not acceptable, I wouldn’t do this at home so wouldn’t expect to have to do this whilst away on a holiday. There are extension leads in the room but these were used for the tv and the lamp. I guess we could have moved the furniture around, but Why should we? We came for a break, not to redecorate. Speaking of the kettle, there was no water jug to even fill the kettle. The kettle is just big enough to fill 2 small mugs and I don’t want to go down 3 flights of stairs every time I fancy a drink. There should have been a water jug to use in the bedroom, but no. Speaking of making drinks, I hardly think 1 mug between 2 people is adequate. This is a double room so surely it’s a general idea that a married couple would use the room. We went to Tesco to buy another mug. There are kitchen facilities at this place, but I didn’t dare use them. The kitchen was disgusting. I touched one of the kitchen cupboards to try and find a jug (there wasn’t) and I had to wash my hands. It’s full of grease and I didn’t fancy getting Ill by cooking. We booked this place for 2 nights and have decided to cut our trip short by a night because this is unbearable. I woke up in the morning very sick. I think it’s because of the heat and not drinking enough. I can’t take another night in this sauna of a room. Also I was quoted £69 for 2 nights on booking.com and found that they stuck on a £20 cleaning fee. I booked through there thinking I got a good deal. It totally is if they hadn’t added the fee. It’s my opinion that they do this so that they can advertise a lower price than the reality and shouldn’t be allowed. You should pay what you see. The price advertised should be what your charged. With the cleaning fee, it’s actually more expensive. It’s put me off of booking through booking.com for that reason.
