The borough of West Chester is proud of its long history of hospitality, having hosted its first visitors way back in 1769. These colonial roots still show, with over 3,000 surviving structures dating from before the Revolutionary War. The tree-lined downtown area is listed on The National Register of Historic Places, with such a large collection of Greek Revival buildings that the town was named Athens of the West. It's the perfect place for a relaxing day spent walking and window-shopping.

Booked this hotel 2 days ago and then tested positive for Covid today. We advised the hotel that our family has come down with COVID and asked to cancel the reservation. They refused. Since we have to pay for the hotel we are going to be riding out COVID at the hotel as it is far more comfortable than home. We let them know to take extra precautions for their guests and staff but they did not reply. Thought it would be good to warn others here. We will try our best to keep to our room and mask up if we leave.

Whitewing Farm is hidden on a country road, quietly nestled in the historic Brandywine Valley adjacent to the world-renowned Longwood Gardens and just minutes away from Winterthur and Brandywine River Museum. Our 1700s farmhouse, featured in the prestigious Chester County Home Tour, provides breathtaking panoramic views, a fully stocked pond, immaculately kept grounds with exquisite rare trees and perennials and Har-tru tennis court. Generously sized guest rooms and suites are separate from the farmhouse. Suites include seasonal fireplaces and all have private bathrooms with marble floors, cozy towels, hand made pillows and bedding ensembles all done in a rich, Hunt Country elegance. It's easy to see why Glamour magazine named Whitewing Farm one of six top romantic places.
Lance and Sandy are very friendly and accommodating. Our room was quite spacious and super clean. There was some pretty serious roof construction going on at the main office / dining area (a heads up notice would have been appreciated) so we were unable to safely get to the dining area for breakfast. The one breakfast we were able to attend in our three mornings there was delicious. It seems the grounds are beautiful but the pool was green and we were warned of a nest-protecting goose which kept us from another area. So we didn't get to see much. Our room was very quiet. This is definitely an option worth considering when in the Brandywine Valley area.

I previously rated this hotel and left a long comment about the condition of the room. Holes in the walls, paper towels duct taped where ceiling light fixtures should be, dirty floors, etc...the review that was posted was modified and those details were omitted. I am now posting this again..

We were visiting West Chester University, and needed a place to spend the night. We were very pleased with our stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The beds, linens, and pillows were all great, and gave us a good night's sleep. The shower had good pressure, and plenty of hot water. Plenty of clean, fluffy towels too. The staff was friendly and helpful, and made checking in and out simple. This is an older facility, with smaller rooms (but still comfortable)...but it's well maintained, in a very convenient location, and a great value for the money. We would definitely stay here again.

Faunbrook Bed & Breakfast is perfect for your intimate wedding, your monthly business trip overnight, your girl's weekend on the wine trail, your milestone anniversary celebration, or your small business retreat. Established in 1860, Faunbrook is a Victorian inn set atop a hill overlooking the wooded 2-acre Brandywine Valley property.
My daughter and I were traveling home from a fall trip to visit family in CT and wanted to stay in a charming B & B near Longwood Gardens. We were delighted to find Faunbrook. The home is splendid, our room was lovely and our host was great. We arrived moments before a torrential rain storm, and were able to settle in until it passed, before going out for dinner to a fine restaurant in town recommended by our host. After a delicious breakfast, we headed out to our day's destination, Longwood Gardens. We would welcome a return visit to Faunbrook. Note: We were very appreciative of the attention to cleanliness due to the Covid pandemic

Stayed two nights in a convenient ground-floor, handicapped-accessible room with zero-contact check-in/out, a first for us. But reservations were simple and value-level payment was done weeks in advance. We were pleased with the location, a couples miles from downtown West Chester and a couple the other way from U.S. 1, a link to the ball game and an excellent westward link to our Mason-Dixon zone home. Only two negatives: insufficient lighting in large bathroom and in bedroom (too late we discovered a nightstand lamp lacked -- ta da! -- a bulb; electric power was out on the kitchenette counter on departure morning. No microwave popcorn, no coffee or tea. Luckily, fridge worked fine.
