Family run guest house. Accommodation sold at room rate , breakfast available on site. A few off road parking spaces available on our drive
Spent a few days cycling around the island. The Castle Lodge was a fantastic stay. Not only was Avril a fantastic host but the ability to have our bikes safely outside in the garden was a real bonus. The room was very comfortable and Avril was more than accommodating to helping with the heat with cool water bottles. Her Covid measures were impeccable and we felt really safe while we were there. I highly recommend here for anyone looking for an amazing base to go from is you are exploring around d around the island either by bike or foot.

Quietly situated 200m from the centre close to restaurants, shops; ideally positioned to explore the island. All bedrooms are en suite; both of the four poster rooms have airspa baths. There is a small courtyard, a period Victorian lounge and breakfast room. We are proud of our English breakfast and promise you a friendly welcome and personal service.
A very welcoming and friendly hotel. This hotel has character and the rooms are kept extremely clean. Breakfast was really good using quality produce. I loved the little courtyard and enjoyed the odd glass of wine out there as it was so peaceful and quiet. On our last day we explained to the owner that we were leaving very early the next morning and it would be before breakfast. They made a sandwich and gave some fruit, and yogurt for our journey home and a glass of orange juice. I personally thought that was an indication of how well they looked after their guests. I cannot fault this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Such a lovely place to stay. Great food, great hospitality and a very chilled out cat. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Tim’s mums homemade marmalade is a must and the vege lasagne was truly delish too. Thank you for a great time. See you again soon

Booked for one night at The Old Church House and what a lucky find. We arrived a little earlier than expected but we had a very warm welcome from the owner. She gave us a choice of rooms and we chose the twin room which was spacious and comfortable. We were then asked if we would like a cup of tea a very welcome gesture. The house is comfortable and it feels like you are staying with a friend rather than a cold B&B or a soulless chain hotel. The location is great for Newport town and there are plenty of places locally to choose from for evening meal. The breakfast the next morning was lovely, very nice quality ingredients for the cooked breakfast and all perfectly cooked. The dining room is very pleasant and surrounded with interesting curios displayed in a very tasteful way. Would certainly recommend and would stay again. Excellent value for money as well.

A private home, not available to the general public other than overnight stays and weddings. 48hrs advanced bookings required. First recorded in 872AD by Alfred The Great in his Will, recorded in the Domesday Book and owned by eight monarchs, Arreton Manor is one of the Island's most historical houses and, due to popular demand since the manor is a historical landmark, it has opened a private suite with its own entrance for guests to enjoy the history. Overnight guests are welcome to explore the ornamental gardens which are also private and to share the swim spa. Perfect for getaways or the single traveller alike. More rooms are available for weddings. If you wish to stay, please book online on arretonmanor.net, we would be delighted to share the history with you! Please note that this is a private, fully functioning home with a family in residence as well as two dogs and a cat who thinks that he is a dog. It is not possible to visit us without booking an overnight stay, we are not open to the general public and that is what makes it so peaceful here. Many Thanks!
I cannot praise Nathalie enough for her support, help, guidance and vision in making sure my Son and Daughter-in-law’s wedding day was the best. She was always on hand to answer my many questions, give her wise guidance and suggestions. Whether I rang, emailed, what’s apped or visited. The venue is stunning and so versatile it will fit any and all your arrangements. Please also bear in mind this is Nathalie’s home. Nathalie provided clear rules but was also sympathetic to any last minute hitches such as no champagne flutes or the marquee people wanting to take down the marquee on the day of the wedding. She worked alongside us tirelessly and on the day of the wedding worked ceaselessly from Very early to very late. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue, and Nathalie for your special day Thanks very much

Hewitt's is located in the centre of the Isle of Wight in the capital town of Newport, the building itself is on Lugley Street adjacent to the main high street with some on street parking or conveniently a large public car park just 30 yards past the front door. Room guests can have breakfast in the beautifully styled restaurant or even in our secret garden to the rear of the building. Hewitt's Restaurant was established in 2016 and rose quickly to one of the top restaurants for dining lunch and dinner on the Isle of Wight, the owners have acquired the guest rooms above in 2021 and treat them with the same quality and care they have maintained since taking over the restaurant in 2016. Our rooms at Hewitt's are newly decorated since taking them over in 2021 all enjoying en suite bathrooms, ideal for a comfortable stay for a trip away in the capital of the Isle of Wight. During your visit, be sure to check out popular attractions like Carisbrooke Castle (1.2 mi), Newport Roman Villa (0.5 mi), and Quay Arts Centre (0.2 mi), which are all within walking distance of the inn.
We stayed at Hewitt's for two nights with dinner on the 2nd night. Kate, who checked us in, was charming and very helpful. She also looked after us for breakfast and nothing was too muchtrouble for her. The room was very comfortable, with a big ensuite bathroom. Dinner was great, I had the Skate Wing which was the biggest I have ever had. My husband had a large fillet steak, which he ate very happily. The venue has a garden which is great for pre-dinner drinks, weather permitting. If you eat at the restaurant, leave plenty of space for your dinner. Dean, front of house, was very friendly and made us fell relaxed and very chatty with us whilst Josh, the Chef, did an amaxing job in the kitchen. We will definately be back.

The Wheatsheaf is a delightful 17th-century coaching inn with a lively and vibrant traditional bar and dining areas. We serve the best of local seasonal produce and our menu has a great range of traditional pub favourites and a lot more. Great range of beers, real ales, wines and cocktails too. All rooms are en-suite and are cosy and comfortable. The Wheatsheaf has recently undergone a 'mini' facelift and received some much needed 'tlc'.
On arrival, loud groups of well oiled drinkers shouting in the bar area and being generally loud, lots of colourful language & topics being shouted about. Not great first impression for family with young child, but it's a pub and they can't control what their customers do. Collected key, went to room - very basic TV not working, but was cheap so we didn't expect the Ritz. Then the music started downstairs. Then the staff started loading the store room opposite with more shouting and swearing. We decided after 10 mins that it wasn't suitable so handed keys back to reception advising we wouldn't be staying and requested refund - which they said would be processed after the weekend. Contacted the following week after not hearing anything and was told aggressively (by whom I assume is the owner - shocking attitude) they wouldn't be refunding us a penny, they were a pub and we shouldn't have booked there. When I said I'd be leaving an honest review of my experience he went into one saying I was threatening them and they wouldn't speak to me again. I walked away with a bad taste in my mouth & well out of pocket, I suggest you do the same before you have the same experience as we did and many of their other clients having checked their other reviews. Id suggest he invests our non refunded £90 in customer service lessons. AVOID.

I booked a 2 night stay, then became unwell and hospitalised the weekend before. As soon as this happened I tried to call the hotel to see if I could move my booking to no avail on the Saturday, after days of trying, I finally got through the day before I was due to arrive and meet with the most unhelpful, unsympathetic and rude ‘manager’. Who told me ‘it wasn’t his problem and there was nothing they could do’ It wasn’t as if I was asking for a refund, I just wanted to move the stay. He was ridiculously condescending in his manner. Just another case of a greedy hotel, happy to take my money but that was all they were happy to do. So disappointing, customer service just isn’t the same anymore.
