We spend 5 nights in Solhov end of April 2022. We were a group of 4 french people coming to do Ski Touring. The place is a former boarding school from the beginning of XX century, and the tenants Ingunn and Matthieu have been very respectful of the history of the building. It is huge (3000m2), with cosy rooms and shared Toilets and bathroom. As it would be a waste of energy to overheat the whole building, the corridors can be a bit chilly in winter. We used the Guest kitchen with its comfortable living room to take some rest every day after hiking. Diner was excellent, with local ingredients from the region or from the farm. Matthieu, Ingunn and the staff (hello Candice, Hello Joséphine, Hello Joao) kindly took time to discuss with us. Solhov is very well situated to do ski touring. The Kavrintingen (1289) can be done directly from the hotel, without taking the car. A 30 to 50 minutes ride by car is sufficient to go to the start of the path for Fastdalstinden (1275), Taffeltinden (1388m), and Daltinden (1531).

This is one of the best accommodations in Lyngen. Great location for ski touring and wildlife.
Emailed this company back and forth maybe a dozen times. Booked a 4-night trip there full of various add-on activities. After more than a week of reserving a room, was informed by them that I needed to pay the deposit (which was entirely expected) but that they don't accept any form of credit card payment. They accept bank wires only. So, this company wasted 2 weeks of my time (by not mentioning that in emails or on their website). I already made flights and other arrangements that I now have to cancel. I dont stay anywhere I cant book with a card and get (or use) my massive collection of travel points. It's also beyond sketchy I can only use bank transfers. I travel globally 6 weeks every year and have never had this issue with a reputable place before. Going to go in an entirely different direction now and not dealing with these people.

Magic Mountain Lodge is surrounded by the Lyngen Alps and has a great view of the Lyngenfjord. On request we serve breakfast and home-made dinners. The lodge is family-run by (former) travellers. During winter you can book activities like northern light-tour, dog-sledding, ice-climbing and cross-country skiing, rent some of (5) pairs of snowshoes. Price-level is about half compared to most tours in Tromsø. You can cancel everything for free and we can also cancel if conditions doesn't fit the activity. During the summer you can find great hiking nearby and spot some of the highest and most beautiful mountains in Northern Norway. We also have bicycles for rent. In addition to 15 en-suite single- and double rooms we have a dormatory for 6 persons. There is also a chill zone with huge TV where guests can relax on the couches and also a table-tennis room.
Stayed for one night on our way north. The place is easy to find, with well placed markers along the road. Within walking distance of just about any store in Lyngseidet. Good parking, but might get tight on crowded days. The rooms are spacious, the beds nice and bathroom is downright acceptable (although I worry about the long-term ramifications of showers that are directly on the wall). The breakfast is worth the money, and there are also kitchen-facilities available should you want to cook for yourself. The walls are thin so you'll hear anyone bumbling about the hall in the night. Most importantly the people are nice and friendly. It is a good starting point for numerous hikes and bike-rides (you can rent mountain bikes at the lodge). And as an added bonus the view is breathtaking.

We are a family of five (three teenagers) and Lyngen Experience was perfect for us. Reidun, the owner, was great with planning and communication before and during our trip. I was on the fence about staying at the lodge v. the apartments. (The apartments are about a ten minute drive from the lodge on the other side of the water.). We did see the lodge (beautiful) but are really glad we chose the apartments. Reidun planned for us to be picked up by boat in Tromso...the boat is new and the captain knowledgeable. The ride was beautiful. We went whale watching, saw reindeer, went snowmobiling and bc the weather did not permit us to go dog sledding, we went snow shoeing. All activities were great. We knew activities were going to be weather dependent and Reidun and her team were great about keeping us posted. We saw the Northern Lights from our terrace over the water our first night there. Absolutely spectacular. The apartment is new and spacious and we enjoyed the sauna. We emailed Reidun a grocery list and our kitchen was stocked upon arrival. She also took me to the grocery store down the street during our stay. Dinner is at a new restaurant right next door which worked out well. I highly recommend planning a trip here. It is a special place where you will be well taken care of.

XLyngen is a family company, we are based on activities in nature and total experiences every day. When you stay with us you will be sleeping in cozy modern cabins by the seaside. Activities to book with our certificated guides are snowshoeing, crosscountry, snowmobile safari, ice fishing, sea safari, fishing , summit to sea hiking, northern light chase and midnight sun experience. Our restaurant is open by events and is also perfect for conference/business meetings, suits for groups up to 60p. Tailormade events/packages is also possible. We are sited in the north part of Lyngenalps and the arctic scenario is amazing. We are also taking the environment very seriously, by November 2017 we are environment certificated by Green Key.
Fabulous stay in modern cabins and amazing suroundings. We rented one of their fishing boats and was handed out all the gear we needed. The hosts served us amazing food and helped us set up the big screen for our meetings. With their sauna and jacuzzi we could relax after long days.
