In case you don't read the entire review, I'll summarize it: Don't stay here. We booked for the same day, 2 hours before arriving so they probably weren't expecting us, though I've never seen a hotel with a COMPLETELY abandoned reception before. Sure, take a bathroom or snack break but at least be in the premise? Reception had a printed paper saying if it's empty ring the bell or call the number. We rang. Nothing. I called 3 times and it only went through the last time. The lady seemed annoyed that there was no one at the reception. Said there was no record of our booking, I told her we had the e-mail to prove it. Reluctantly, she agreed to send someone over. After 10 minutes, a lady (by her voice, I'm assuming the same one) shows up in short shorts and a low cut shirt with her cleavage out. I'd give you her name but I guess her "uniform" didn't make it mandatory to wear a tag. I try to overlook this but she didn't even ask for our name nor were we able to pay upon arrival? This was because "we might use stuff in the room that costs extra". Something I've never heard of as the guest always pays upfront and THEN pays for extras at the checkout. "What time is checkout tomorrow?" I ask. I kid you not, her response was: "Uhh, I don't know?" The guest behind her had to say "I think it's noon." I ask to see the key that my fiancé had and it's just a key in a keychain with a duct taped piece of paper written in handwriting. I handed it back to her and said that this was unprofessional. She gave me a look as if I had just disrespected her ancestors. She didn't even have to say how mad she was that we clearly pulled her out of a Saturday night party or something to get us checked in (if you can even call this process a check-in) only to have us reject staying there. My fiancé swears he could smell alcohol on her breath as he was given the key as well. Fortunately there was no fee of cancelation. If you're lucky and someone professional works you might get a relatively good stay as the place seemed nice, aesthetically and relatively quiet. It just didn't happen to us.

Stayed here recently for the second time. It is simply perfect. The rooms are very clean & comfortable. This time I had room 6, upstairs, which even has a fridge & cooking facilities! The whole place has a very relaxed & peaceful atmosphere, and the owners are simply delightful. They greeted us on our arrival (along with their very friendly old dog!), and gave us a welcoming drink on the house. I cannot recommend De Pepper enough; it's one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed.

A wonderful place in the countryside to relax, take it easy, sleep peacefully in their very comfortable beds, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings (including the historic 16th century mills directly opposite - but the hotel building is also historically listed!) The owners are friendly, courteous and understand hospitality. They really do whatever they can to ensure you have an incredibly comfortable stay. The rooms are spotlessly clean - if a little bit dated in terms of decoration - but in perfect condition. They are spacious, with a separate sitting/dining area (we were there during lockdown so they had a dining table set up in the sitting area for meals). Food is delicious, well prepared, and served to your room. The location is wonderful, peaceful, feels remote and yet is easy to get to. Great walking/hiking paths go right past the B&B. I would happily stay here again and recommend it highly to others.

Benboverijssel looks forward to welcoming you on your visit to Haaksbergen.
I have just returned from a lovely 5 day break at Benboverijssel. The b&b is a peaceful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The owners are very welcoming and accomodating, the rooms clean, shower hot and breakfast tasty. I had the pleasure of staying in the apartment (see picture), which was very spacious, and had the most peaceful nights sleep I have experienced in a long time. There is a lovely little garden to sit in if the weather permits and the option to have a massage whilst staying here (which I took advantage of and thoroughly enjoyed). I don't understand the previous reviews, I had a very good experience of the b&b, If you are looking for a sterile environment with mod cons and no character then maybe this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a good nights sleep and a warm welcome, then you wont be dissapointed. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I stayed in this hotel passing trough on a business trip. The hotel is located next to a busy road. My room was facing the street, I had a quite noisy night. The girl at the reception waw friendly and helpfull, the room itself ok, but lacking a mini bar. The bathroom was surprisingly large. I had dinner at the restaurant. This was a sad experience. I first had a carpaccii. For an unknown reason my carpaccio was burried under a pile of vegetables, olives an tomatoes. Very strange presentation. After that I went for the rib eye steak and I awked for a rosti or potato mash instead of the proposed baked potatoes. This was refused, the chef did not have unprepared potatoes at his idsposal according to the rather unfriendly waiter. Food was disappointing. Breakfast ok, but at an unacceptable extra fee of 12 euro on top of the pricy rate for a night in a single room of 75 euro. doubt to stay again
