Reviewed By joshuah552Positives: Reception and restaurant staff nice enough. Breakfast ok. Decent pool area. Good value for money. Negatives: Room absolutely stank of smoke. Lots of hair left in bathroom suggesting cleaning wasn’t great. V basic rooms. Food wasn’t great - everything v greasy and tasted of old oil from frying. First time I’ve ever been unable to eat my steak! Odd location - middle of nowhere, just off the main road almost in an industrial zone.

Hotel full of character
Reviewed By stalboyThe Raya is a small hotel just outside the centre of Guimar. Can be tricky to find if arriving after dark !The owners and staff are very efficient but kind and friendly into the bargain. Rooms are spacious with everything you might need , with all sorts of quirky antiques,and the suite with a big terrace/plunge pool is an incredible bargain. Food, including breakfast is of very high quality and prices low for the standard involved. The goat stew served at weekends is fantastic. Portions are BIG. Some points to note: The car park is a long steep walk from the hotel. There is no lift. Those with walking difficulties will find this and the stairs difficult. The restaurant is normally closed Sun to Wed, but will open on request. Best to order ahead . The beds are rather hard for some tastes. Guimar seems to attract cloud cool and rain. Those used to the hot sunny weather in the South and Puerto de La Cruz may well be disappointed. A good working knowledge of Spanish is essential, as little English, French or German is spoken by the staff.

A very well curated hotel
Reviewed By CardorojoWe stayed for one night during a recent visit to Tenerife. The hotel is beautifully positioned in a quiet position in the hills above Guimar, with great views down to the coast. Everything is extremely clean and tidy, and the decor is simple and effective. We particularly enjoyed our al fresco breakfast - very tasty. The only fly in the ointment was a slightly sticky internet connection, but who wants to send lots of emails on holiday? Highly recommended.

This rural hotel is located in the historic center of Güímar and is considered Monument of cultural interest due to its 16th century architecture. This house has been carefully restored to maintain its architecture and traditional Canarian style, becoming a cozy space that retains the charm of its noble origin. It also enjoys an excellent location in a natural setting and is ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking. It is strategically located 8 minutes from the sea and at the foot of the mountain, being also halfway between the north and the south of the island of Tenerife. It has a famous restaurant in the valley for its exquisite tapas, the possibility of tasting the best local wines and succulent dishes prepared by chef Joachim Van Wambeke, member of the "Eurotoque Community of International Chefs" since 1994. "La Casona" Is the ideal place to enjoy a different and quality holiday.
Very bad customer service.
Reviewed By AnneMaggieI stayed here two years ago and gave a glowing review. Sadly I cannot do the same this time. We booked for two nights and ate in the restaurant the first night. The next day there was a wedding reception. We only found out about this as our bikes were moved. The wedding party were very happy which was good. However, they were extremely noisy until quite late at night and the restaurant was closed. We should have been warned earlier and asked if we wanted to cancel. At the very least we should have been told on arrival but we weren't even told on the day. When we were ready to retire for the night we asked how much longer the noise would be. The answer was one hour but it was at least two. We were told that our bikes would be put back but they weren't. There was no one around in the morning so we had to search the rooms for our bikes, dreading that they would be locked away. We are not party poopers and are in favour of a happy wedding party but it was clear that the management didn't care about their hotel guests. We will not go again.

Reviewed By chamana_92Nos gustó mucho la ubicación del sitio , no en plena zona de turismo. Elma es un encanto, amable y atenta, facilita la estancia y además es muy buena cocinera. Ofrece desayuno y comidas caseras, pero además puedes llevar comida y cocinar tú mismo ( hay una nevera para dejar lo que necesites) El jardín es muy amplio con una pequeña piscina y varias zonas de descanso. Las habitaciones son muy fresquitas, los baños son amplios ( también hay duchas y aseos en el jardín ) Cuando volvamos a la isla repetiremos!

Reviewed By Alejandro DEl mobiliario de piscina un poco deficiente, las tumbonas solo 2 funcionan para una casa que es para seis personas. Las vistas geniales y en general la casa está cuidada. El entorno de la casa tiene zonas poco cuidadas.
