Reviewed By Mirre80Stayed at La Val for an extended weekend, without kids. Super friendly staff. Very tasteful rooms and hotel interior. Loved the food and wine. Accompanied with live music. The hotel has a small but enjoyable SPA area. We will definitely visit again.

Reviewed By peter187532A rare find in Switzerland, modern but with nice rustic touches - natural wood etc. Be aware that when it says check-in from 16h00, this does mean that the hotel isn't even open until 16h00. Nice little bar serving cool drinks from Thursday to Sunday I think - including alcohol free options. Very good breakfast but no evening restaurant which is no problem for us but worth knowing. Room was lovely in terms of fixtures and fittings as well as bed comfort except this hotel suffers from the same issue as so many hotels on the continent in that the pillows are absolutely pathetic, tiny little things that seem to be filled with air and offer next to no support. This isn't just this hotel, we've travelled extensively in Switzerland and it seems to be a national sport, providing woeful pillows but I would definitely recommend changing this! Very friendly couple who own it and reasonably priced.

Reviewed By Harry RMy wife and I had heard about the Swiss specialty "Reh Ruecken", a special cut taken from the back of a deer. The Alpina is well known locally for this special dish. It was fantastic! You should know that you have to order it in advance when you make a reservation.

A convenient overnight stop before skiing in Brigels
Reviewed By David HHotel Kistenpass appears somewhat out of place in the pretty village of Brigels, being one of the very few flat-roofed (and tall) buildings among the more traditional architecture around it. It is very near the entrance to the town, unmissable as you drive up from the valley, and there is outside parking around the back, along with ski room and somewhat hidden back entrance. The rooms were clean and pleasant, if somewhat dated (old style telephones and TVs). Our rooms were on the street side which was not a big issue as there was not a great deal of traffic. The heating could not be altered however, and we had to keep the window open to ensure the room was cool enough to sleep. Rooms at the back of the hotel cost more but you have a valley view and no road. From the website it would appear that some rooms have been modernised, probably this is being done in stages. We had half-board. Dinner was a set menu - Asian style., no choice. Cooking was good but portions were somewhat on the small side if you have big eaters in your family. Better to go for the a-la-carte as the portions looked considerably bigger. Breakfast was self-service with very fresh bread, rolls, hams, cheese, etc.

Noisy bed but otherwise perfect!
Reviewed By terryh78Apart from the creaky bed, this resort had everything we needed for a first holiday with our toddler. A clean modern apartment with a well fitted kitchen, with quality appliances and utensils, a handy supermarket nearby and online ordering for bread and breakfast things from the local bakery. The indoor pool had good variety for us to keep baby entertained and also to enjoy ourselves (due to Covid we reserved a 1h slot a day in advance and never felt overcrowded). Plenty of hiking options direct from the hotel meant we had plenty to do every day. Exactly what we wanted from our stay and the very friendly staff made us feel completely welcome.
