nice concept....enjoying all guests around campfire. enjoying diner all together. too much noise of the street. swimmingpool was not really inviting to get in. no pillow on the bed at the swimmingpool. a little expensive...not worth the money

Located in the midst of the Kalahari, on the fringes of the village of Stampriet in the fertile valley of the seasonal Auob River, Kalahari Farmhouse combines upmarket hospitality with a rural ambiance. The reception and restaurant are housed in a manor, built in the heyday of Karakul farming 50 years ago. The small farming business next-door keeps the kitchen stocked with fresh produce for the delicious dishes on the menu. For guests there are 11 tastefully decorated rooms in chalets reminiscent of the Cape Dutch style. Enjoy the serene tranquility at the pool, visit the farming business or join a scenic drive in Gondwana Kalahari Park, just 30 km away.
If you want to experience and enjoy real farm life on a typical Kalahari farm, then this is the place to be! The farm is very scenic with the typical Kalahari red dunes and many, many majestic camelthorn trees. The accommodation is in well-equipped self-catering rooms, very clean and tidy, next to a huge lawn and garden, so also great for outdoor eating eg Braais (BBQ). Dankie and Mariaan are easy-going and very accommodating hosts, always trying to fulfil every wish of their guests. Can highly recommend this guest farm, even if it is for only an overnight stop, but would definitely recommend a longer stay in order to experience the farm life.

We at Dornhugel Guestfarm aim to provide a unique experience of typical Namibian farmlife in a familial atmosphere and high class hospitaliy to our guests - whether you want to spend a day working with our farm workers, experience a farm drive or just relax by the pool with your kids enjoying the playground. The farm is situated in the north of Namibia close to the city of Grootfontein and next to the D2844. You will pass through it on your way to the untouched bushmanland and the Caprivi region. The Beyer family has been running the farm "Dornhugel" since 1904. Today, the farm raises different cattle breeds, Damara sheep and Basotho horses - a traditional horse breed from Lesotho. The farm is home to a fascinating variety of wild game, which can be discovered on every farm ride. Beside others, giraffes, zebras, kudus, eland antelopes and innumerable warthogs can be seen on Dornhugel. Our guestfarm managers, Melanie and Götz Nederlof are looking forward to welcoming you.
Food and food services were super. The dining hall is beautifully and welcoming. Love the idea o f a mini bar in the rooms. Very clean and a beautiful natural environment. Wish if we could have seen some wild animals and so on. The welcoming was amazing. The immidiate natural environment was a good experience

Düsternbrook Safari Guest Farm is situated on a hill overlooking the landscape with stunning view. The core farm house is from settler time and has a charming colonial architecture. Accommodation: At the main house we have 22 beds in 9 double units in different categories ( 1 to 4 star ) including also family rooms. Rooms in level 3 and 4 star have air-condition. It has abundant game 16 different species ( hippo, giraffe, sable antelope, kudu, oryx, springbock, impala etc. ) and rich bird life in its private game reserve. Wi-Fi in the yard and reception, own brand coffee and still water.
We stayed in the pioneer campsite for 2 nights at the start of our trip - it's close enough to Windhoek to get out into the bush the day you arrive, without having to drive a huge distance. The campsite is really private, and feels wild, although it's close enough to the main farmhouse to be able walk to the pool or stables (a huge advantage if you have a roof tent...). The main draw for us was the horse riding. This is absolutely fantastic, and our kids are still talking about it. Beautiful horses, and Lisa and Phil are extremely patient and professional. It is very special to be able to do an outride early in the morning and see giraffe and antelope close up. We loved it and wished we could have stayed longer.

We on Boscia are passionate about nature and its conservation, and we concentrate on sustainable development of this beautiful place and beyond. We love an alternative type of travelling and just being here as we believe in the transformational power of the pure African nature on Boscia. We offer rooms, holiday homes and a Seminar Location.

We had the opportunity to camp in Otjiterazu and to enjoy this huge property where a lot of game is roaming around, including white oryx. We had a great dinner prepared by Monika who is very friendly and a great host. A nice place not far from Windhoek.

One of the few real Guest Farms left in the country. Friendly host with an interesting background. Nice atmosphere and good meals (breakfast could be more "special", e.g. with some fruits). Two rooms in thatched building very nice and welcoming, the other two are pretty dark (wooden walls). Friendly service throughout and a very nice sundowner farm drive! I would recommend it as a starting point into western Etosha.

A very friendly host, accommodation basic but clean, nice hot water was available on arrival for a shower. Take it slowly is it is not the main road but a farm road. Wonderful farm experience, Nice comfy bedding.
