My first time doing this hike and it's a nice walk through the woods. The falls were beautiful. The hike to the top of the falls is strenuous and good if you're looking for a little more challenge than the hike in.

In September we were not here for snowmobiling but for horseback riding. Our first impression was Wow, this is a nice place. That impression only continued to grow during our four short days in this beautiful area. All the meals are served family style with the guides, ranch hands and ranch owners all in attendance. You really get a feel for the area and ranch life as they all interact and talk to one another about the daily going ons. Of course, we as guests were not left out of the conversations as they were as interested in our lives as we were in theirs. Oh, and the food was exceptional ! Since I do not eat meat special foods were prepared for me even though I would have been just as happy with all the veggies served. The horsed were all very well mannered and very well trained. Our guide, Tommy, was very knowledgeable about the area, the plants, the weather and everything else about which he was asked. While there we took rides four times, each on different trails and each to spectacular views of the valley. There is a laundry available at no charge to guests and Wi-Fi. There is no television service and it was not missed due to the very large video library available. This is a wonderful place run by wonderful people and one which we hope to return to soon. Perhaps we will try snowmobiling.

Seeley Lake Nordic Trails

We enjoy cross country skiing on the Seeley Lake Nordic Trails but this area is a great place to mountain bike or just take a hike thru the woods. The trails are well marked and it is a quiet place. Very few people ride their mountain bikes on the trails. In the fall the Western Larch trees change color and thus you ride through a forest of yellow and green. Travel north out of Seeley Lake and turn onto Morrell Falls Rd. Several miles up the road the trail parking will be on the left. A bathroom is located at the parking area.

Clearwater River Canoe Trail

Reviewed By Jim S - Missoula, Montana

The Clearwater Canoe trail is a 3.5 stretch of the Clearwater River leading into Seeley Lake. The put in is 3.7 miles north of Seeley Lake off Highway 83 and the take out is at the Seeley Lake Ranger Station. Late in the season you can start out at the take out and paddle up the river. Plenty of wildlife can be seen along the trail, deer, otter, beavers and turtles. We saw over 7 turtles swimming underwater yesterday. There are bathrooms at each end of the trail. If you only have one vehicle, drop your gear at the put in and then park at the take out. Walk back to the put in that takes you along the river. The river can be very swift in the spring and early summer so caution is advised during that period. If in doubt, start at the take out and paddle over to the river entrance and paddle upstream or just paddle around the lake.

Rocky Mountain Adventure Gear

Reviewed By Amy S - Helena, Montana

I highly recommend Rocky Mountain Adventure Gear. Moose, Vel, and Kiley were all great to work with - helpful, organized, and creative as I planned a winter trip for 15 people. We rented snowmobiles (and associated gear), snowshoes, and cross-country skis. All the gear was in great condition. The shop is tidy. Someone always answered the phone. RMAG, the local snowmobile club (Seeley Driftriders), and others in the Seeley Lake community worked tirelessly to create a winter trip we will always remember. We're already making plans for next time!
