Place with heritage values...Visited the temples of parashuram ji & mother renuka ji..Thereafter enjoyed boating in renuka lake the biggest lake in himachal..Wildlife sanctuary is enchanting having leopard, wolf, dears, cheetal and many more animals... Access to sanctuary is not permitted with own vehicle...It is good that only battery operated vehicles at the rate 50 rs per person tariff is allowed or one can go around the sanctuary on foot just 1.50 km away from main entry gate...A must visit place with serene atmosphere...

It was about 4-5 km walk around the lake at Renukaji we found not much but the wild life was there. It has some deers, sambhar, bears and some wild hens.
The best part was to see the tigers lions which are left in the open areas where they can breath fresh air and roam around closed boundries and when we went there it was closing time and they were put in cages. More animals could be put as there is ample space for the same. Overall enjoyed our stay at Renuka ji Himachal tourism Hotel.

We visited this place on 26th December 2014. This was exactly 200 years after i.e. after 26th December 1814 when a battle was fought between the English forces and the Nepali King. We know this because there is a war memorial outside the fort. However, there was no Govt function to mark the occasion. There was no information at the hotel desks, or a word from the locals about it. We knew it only because we had visited this place earlier also i.e. 2 years before and had loved the magnificent Fort due to a beautiful drive, its superb location and a breathtaking view of the surrounding beauty. The fort has 3 bed rooms, a kitchen, one library, Drawing room, dining room and an Observatory room. It has the unique old-time room heater, lock, candle stand, furniture, open air Bar etc

If you can handle a 40-45 mins of climb, this is the place you should visit. The climb is steep, but it is properly constructed and has clear directions. It starts from the village and reaching Jamu village isn't that comfortable. It's only 20 mins from renuka by car but the road was really bad. You have to drive 15-20 Km/hr for last 4-5 kms. But it's alright if you enjoy looking at Mountains.
I found people living around Jamu also very friendly. I was offered tea more than once, and it staretd raining, i was offered shelter. It is not a touristy place and there isn't much except enjoying nature and explore spirituality. SO, if you are that kind of a person, and happens to be around renuka, you should go here.
