'An ancient, Arcadian country estate' With a 125 acre estate of fine trees and open skies, Morden Hall Park is a tranquil hideaway enveloped by London. Follow the River Wandle as it meanders serenely through the park and under the ornate bridges. The atmospheric wetlands provide a natural haven for an abundance of wildlife including kingfishers, herons and dragonflies. For our young explorers we have a natural play area where you can fly through the air on the zip wire before building your very own secret den in the woods. Events run throughout the year, from family trails to summer theatre and open air cinema nestled amongst the roses. 'In each and every season, Morden Hall Park is yours to explore' The Potting Shed cafe serves fresh, seasonal food including home baked cakes and treats. If you're looking for a special gift or simply want to treat yourself, take inspiration from our Garden Centre.
The River Wandle is a tributary of the River Thames running from Surrey to Wandsworth. It is one of those rivers that has been abused and underappreciated and, for much of its length is hidden - such as under the Southside shopping centre in Wandsworth. Here, in Morden Hall Park, it comes alive and gives enjoyment to the children, dogs and occasional father who were splashing and paddling in it on a sunny morning, along with the ducks and geese. It has a historical context too, as the mills at the side of the river gave prosperity to the estate - converting tobacco imported from Virginia USA into snuff, then popular in London society. The estate has a long history and was originally much larger, before it was split in half. It was owned by Westminster Abbey until the Dissolution of the Monasteries by Henry VIII when it was sold off, only to be sold again to the Garth Family who became Lords of the Manor of Morden and owned the estate for four centuries until 1872. The last owners of the park, the Hatfeild family, established a rose garden in the Park, which still exists today and donated the estate to the National Trust in 1941. The 18th century Morden Hall is now privately occupied and is available for weddings. The park is a beautiful natural asset in this part of London, even with the current coronavirus restrictions which mean that facilities such as the café are closed. The garden centre is open, but perhaps suffers from popularity. I visited on a Monday and there was not much left for sale - they had obviously had a busy weekend. The staff were friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. From the smiles and laughter of the children and their families, they were enjoying the park on this sunny day.

I would not hesitate to recommend Vital as a go to company for airport transfers. I have been working with Vital for a number of years and have found them very easy to communicate with via email or phone, reliable and on time so I am confident that my day will go according to schedule, the comfortable Mercedes cars they have and the courtesy each and every driver extends me each and every time. Absolutely faultless service. I most often have the same drivers, Mo and Sabir, lovely chaps. Give them a try.
