This is a hidden gem of El Dorado. They have a wide variety of native plants and trees with many of the trees being named. There are also lots of hiking trails and even a place to water your dog.

Built in 2013, by the El Dorado based Murphy Oil Company; Mystic Creek is a gem of a course. The greens are treacherous, but you now know that, so plan your second, third (or fourth) shot accordingly. As locals told us, "If the pin is in a certain area of the green, you'll have to hit your shot exactly to that area". Very true. Well maintained and with water and traps galore on every hole, you need to warm up, and shoot accurately. I'm 15 handicap, my wife 12-13; and we played the White & Red tees. IMHO- if you're over a 12 handicap- play the Yellow tees (slope 125, 5577 yards). Sounds short, but with hazards and water, as well as the touchy greens- you'll see. Patio restaurant wasn't open, but food to go, can be ordered. It's Troon affiliated, so we paid $70/ea. The clubhouse appears brand new. Staff was very nice. No carts in the parking lot. large practice green is representative of course.

We stumbled across this bookstore while on vacation and it could not have been better. The lady who owns it was so lovely and they had a huge selection of books.
