We were traveling from Jamestown, PA to find our hotel for the evening in Meadville. We stumbled upon this winery by accident. It was closed last night. We came back around 10 AM the next day, when they opened on Sunday. We read that they were celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the winery.
They provide 6 complimentary wine tastings. Everything I tried in the dry white and reds was absolutely amazing. We walked away with a 1/2 case of wine and added to the bottle inventory list. Every 15 bottles you purchase the next one is for FREE.
They invited us to come back for the celebration to enjoy free food. I said why not. We came back and they were inviting about it. I asked if we can purchase a glass of Snug Harbor wine. That's when the lady was SUPER ODD about the laws and regulation of the wine by the glass. She could have simply said we are not able to serve by the glass at the moment, but can only do by the bottle. That was the first red flag, then the one worker said we can walk through the back to the outside area and to help yourself to the food. "Well that's why we came back". We walked outside and the picnic tables had some type of aluminum siding parts laying all over the place, the picnic tables had green pollen all over the tables. ( maybe clean that first ).
We adventured inside to get our FREE food. Ha, the woman was super skimpy on the helpings. My wife got a 1/2 meatball, I got 1 full meatball, 1 teaspoon of a pear, and carrot. They want to conserve on the food for 8 hours. Sorry if it's your 35th you should prepare for a number of people coming. Then before we could even pick our food TWO snooty women were standing in line looking at their phones and didn't have the courtesy to move out of the way.
I wish we wouldn't have come back and we were left with the first impression that we received that was absolutely amazing.

Very distinctive decorating! The college kids have worked very hard on this project with much help from others in the community. Very neat to check out if you are in the area. I always see people stopping to take pictures of it.

The Pymatuning Spillway, teeming with lunker (local fishing term) carp, has always been a popular tourist attraction where throwing bread into the normally calm waters sets off a feeding frenzy not seen anywhere else. Roadside America includes the spillway in its list of attractions. People of all ages line up along the railing to toss slices into the water to view the “Battle of the Bread” among the carp, ducks, geese, and seagulls. Years ago, I took my spouse’s grandfather, a retired commercial fisherman from Washington, to the spillway. The old fisherman was so impressed by the volume and size of the carp that up until the time of his passing, he talked about his spillway visit and “all them feesh!” The spillway is one of the free attractions at Pymatuning State Park, near the town of Linesville, and with an expanded free parking lot and extended observation platform, it is a pleasant way for families to enjoy a unique activity for little money. A snack bar-gift shop is available for visitors. Food items include: hot dogs ($2.50), burgers ($3.75/$4.25); sausage sandwich ($4.50); fries ($2.50) and garbage fries ($6.00); and pizza ($3.50). The snack bar also has hot and cold drinks ($1.00 - $5.00); soft serve ice cream and novelties ($2.00 - $4.75) and other snack items, including soft pretzels ($2.00), nachos ($2.50) and fudge ($12.99/lb.).

Conneaut Lake Park dates back to 1892 as Exposition Park. The Park sits on PA's largest natural lake. The unique combination of amusement rides, pony rides, putt-putt, games, indoor and outdoor concerts, a nightclub, historic hotel, and boat tours make it the perfect weekend getaway. Ride the country's 17th oldest wooden coaster, the 1938 Blue Streak, or the world's oldest Tumble Bug. There is no gate charge for our ride area; enjoy our carousel, Devil's Den, full Kiddieland, etc. and only pay if you ride.Look for us on Facebook: Conneaut Lake Park.
Growing up in Northwestern Pennsylvania, a trip to Conneaut Lake Park was always an exciting event, filled with rides, games, food, and people everywhere enjoying the fun and attractions. For three summers during my college years, I was a park ride operator, running long-gone rides such as “The Twister,” “The Spider,” “The Wild Mouse,” and several which remain, including “The Bug,” “The Dodgems” (sorry folks, they are not “The Bumper Cars,) and the crown jewel, “The Blue Streak” wooden roller coaster (circa 1938). (Note: Anyone who ever operated “The Blue Streak” will have specific memories of some of its passengers.) At that time, most of us – ride operators, game operators, and food service workers – all lived at the park and were a community unto ourselves. We even sported three softball teams that played on a field on the other side of the free parking lot and across from what was then “Fairyland Forest.” I returned recently for a visit and enjoyed reliving many memories, but they were mixed with sadness at the empty lots where fire had destroyed buildings that housed many games, a large gift shop, a wonderful doughnut stand, Dreamland Ballroom (once “the” place for Saturday night dances), the Penny Arcade, the Beach Club, and the men’s dormitory, affectionately known as “the Rat’s Nest.” Although I live far away now, I have read about the park’s struggles to stay afloat and kudos to those volunteers who have worked to keep the park running. Even with today’s blemishes, CLP is still an enjoyable place to spend a day. Where else can you park and enter the park for free. An all-day ride pass is $10; a water park pass is also $10, while a combination pass is $18. The second Sunday of the month is $5 ride pass day and the first Friday of the month is Grandparent’s Day, where a grandparent rides free with the purchase of a ride wrist band. CLP also includes a swimming beach, boardwalk, a large area for outdoor entertainment, and Hotel Conneaut. The park sits on a prime piece of waterfront real estate, and as a former employee, would hope that perhaps someday a benefactor could invest in the park and return it to its former glory.

Just 5 mins from the Holiday Inn Express on the Conneaut Lake Rd is a 7 mile nature trail. Great paths for run, walks and sitting. Be mindful that there are lots of mosquitos out as there is still water along quite a bit of the trail so make sure to take your repellant

Peaceful place to walk around, study the exhibits, relax and use restroom while seeing the sights in the area. We really like the two story aquarium that can be observed from both levels. The hatchery tanks below seemed pretty out of use during our July visit, which would be the off season. There is no charge for admission.

Although small, the park is beautifully landscaped and accented with historical markers giving you the story of the area, as well as being dotted with benches where one can simply sit, look out at the lake, relax and enjoy the scenery. It is also a great place to rest after seeing the many interesting shops in this area of town......or so my tired husband says!!

Voodoo Brewery, is a funky, and progressive brewery in downtown Meadville, and one of the better stops on the Lake Erie Ale Trail. From the moment you come in the door, you are greeted with the sounds of laughter, and conversation from the customers...the decor is eclectic, with doors from a near by New York Spiritualist community hanging from the ceiling. The tables are just as unique, with some re- purposed doors from stores and barns in the area. The listing of their beers are very descriptive and they change often, so try a flight and settle on one or two...but, be warned their beers are pretty strong, so have a designated driver on hand. The menu is constantly changing and the food is good, and they are able to handle gluten free. Well worth your stopping into, and falling under its spell.

AvalancheXpress snow tubing resort is the tri-state areas longest, fastest snow tubing facility located in Meadville,Pa. 1 mile west of I-79. Facilities include a club house with large fireplace, bar with big screen TV's, The Xpress lodge where you can warm up by the wood burner, get a bite to eat at the snack bar or just grab a cup of hot chocolate or cappuccino! Season runs Dec. 26-Mid March.
Avalanche Xpress provides some quality entertainment without traveling to a major mountain resort. It is built on a golf course. This review is based solely on Avalanche Xpress snow tubing as I have not participated in golf at this location.
Advantages:
*Good for children and adults (ages 3+)
*Snack Bar with food and warm beverages
*Cable up the hill
Disadvantages:
*Long Lines
*Much walking involved between parking area, ticket purchasing area and snack bar.
*Must drag feet at bottom to slow down so not to hit red bags to stop you or go into pond. I have ruined shoes this way.
Prices are pretty comparable to the large mountain resorts. The staff during my last visit was much friendlier than during a previous visit.
Bottom Line: Avalanche Xpress is a fun place to visit close to home and for younger people. For the full thrill of snow tubing, visit a mountain resort that does not have a pond at the bottom of the tubing area.
