Ooms Conservation Area at Sutherland Pond

This was a beautiful walk around the pond. The scenery is terrific and there were a good number of birds and other wildlife to see. The trails were fairly easy although there were a couple rough spots and a few hills; nothing really problematic though. It took us about an hour and a half to walk the 1.8 mile loop because we chose to sit on a number of the benches along the trail and just absorb the scenery. I would absolutely recommend it but bring a hat if it is a sunny day; the walk is mostly in the sun.

What a great place! We stopped here as part of the Capital Craft Beverage Trail, had never been before. Their tasting room just recently opened back up - cute spot, tables inside and out, plenty of space. We tried the tasting flights to sample a few beers, and left with a six pack of the Raspberry Wheat. My boyfriend had the chicken sandwich and I did the pulled bbq chicken, mac & cheese and salad - delicious! Staff were all super friendly, very quick service, great food and beer - we will be back!
