This museum was on the 2020 Nebraska Passport Tour. This was my second trip to Chadron and my wife's first. The museum is located on the campus of Chadron College. The setting is very nice the area provides wonderful scenery while driving. The museum was small, but very well done. The displays were informative and interesting. While I had heard of Mari Sandoz, I was not familiar with any of her specific works. After visiting, I decided to purchase a copy of Old Jules in the gift shop. Along with the Sandoz displays, they have an area for visiting artists. The artist on display during our visit had artwork related to the area and Native Americans. This display was also enjoyable. What made this visit stand out was the guide working during our visit. She had a wealth of knowledge about the Sandoz family that she graciously shared with us. Her passion for the subject was wonderful. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

This excellent museum presents the history of the fur trade in North America - New France, Canada, Europe, China and Russia as well as the USA.. One could spend hours learning new things. Many interesting items: I was particularly intrigued by the collection of carved and decorated wooden ladles with which voyageurs reached into the water by their canoe to get a drink. If you are interested in history, give it several hours! Don't miss the video of the silent documentary "Nanook of the North". Also of interest to antique gun enthusiasts.

My relative live in Chadron and while we were visiting they took us for a little drive through this beautiful State Park. Campgrounds looked well kept and clean. The park also rents cabins that looked pretty spacious and looked like a great set up for families. The park also has a small lake, baseball field, volley ball nets, nice old fashioned playground equipment (can you say old time merry-go-round), a swimming pool, horse back riding, archery, biking and running paths. At the top of the park on a clear day you can see the start of the Black Hills. It is such a wonderful park and if you have a chance to stop by for an afternoon or a few days you won't be disappointed.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes that through Jesus Christ all humankind may enjoy eternal life with their families in God’s kingdom (see John 3:16). We also believe that we lived with God as spirits before we were born (see Romans 8:16) and that according to His plan of happiness we came to earth to receive physical bodies in order to learn and grow. We also believe that, through the work done in temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, family relationships can last forever. In order to receive these blessings, we must seek to know and follow God’s will, as revealed by holy scriptures and living prophets, and live righteously.
