Fiddler's Green is a memorial which was erected to the memory of those Fishermen who have lost their lives at sea, particularly those who have sailed beyond the piers of the River Tyne. The memorial is a metal sculpture which depicts a Fisherman sitting on a bollard reflecting in thought.
A fabulous fitting memorial to the history of the area. A must see when visiting area. Wonderful location.

We are a ceramic cafe where you can come and ;paint your own pottery & enjoy some delicious pancakes. Our Pancake menu includes both sweet and savoury options & we cater for wheat, milk, egg & nut allergies. Painting sessions generally last between 1–2 hours depending on the piece painted, our friendly staff will be on hand to guide & advise. Everyone is welcome either as individuals or as part of a group. There are no fixed painting times so you can just drop in and have a go anytime you like!
I visited Pots and Pancakes in May 2017 after moving away from the Northeast, and was very impressed. The shop actually looks bigger, much brighter and more welcoming than it did before, I could not believe the difference, very impressed. The staff still very helpful and friendly, even tho some changes, and still serving up lots of different pancakes, a variety of sandwiches, a very good menu altogether, need help with an allergy and they will help you in anyway, to make your visit more enjoyable. Lots of new things happening also, instead of painting this time, I had an elephant moneybox and covered it in a ball like putty (photo below) as very hard to explain. Very different, but most enjoyable.

We had a really pleasant couple of hours here. Nice park to stroll through, with various planted areas to look at and explore, a long history to investigate, parts of the park date back to medieval times and a pet cemetary. This is a place for all the family to enjoy. In the centre is a large pond with duck. There is a play area and BMX / skate park.
